At the plate: 1/48 Airfix Bf109 & 1/35 Tamiya Famo
On deck: Who knows!
AA- Good work and nice Flak gun!
bufflehead- Sweet Pz.1 there! Glamdring- Complex! Keep up the the great work!
I'll get the roster all updated as it needs. As for my Wildcat, I really gotta get working on that again. My Korean War diorama for the Forgotten War GB has come along pretty far, though. I'll have to post update photos on that thread.
I also bought another Wildcat (1/48 this time). Quick question, what are the differences between the F4F-4 and the F4F-3?
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” - John 3:16-17
Finally finished pinning both track runs, all that is needed is to grind the excess wire down and give a touch with CA. This weekend they will get a batch in etching fluid. Hoping to get this wrapped up within the month...a month and a half after I initially planned.

Added a Caunter scheme camouflage pattern, got the gun mounted in the truck bed, and added an overhead framework. Need to apply decals and create a canvas cover (from tissue, soaked in white glue and water) to go on the overhead frame:
Latest progress: decals are applied, and my soft "canvas" top made of tissue is applied. Not perfect, but for my first attempt at making this kind of top, it'll do.
Also mounted the windshield, but I don't know whether to add the molded soft top for the cab. Leaning toward leaving it off, as it otherwise obscures the cab interior details:
Final reveal pics of the Bedford truck with flak gun; she is DONE!
(Use picture #4 in this sequence as the front page gallery pic. Thanks!)
Wow! That is a great piece!
Beautiful job AA , your truck is gorgeous.
I started assembly on the body which looks simple but it’s not. Too many angles that need to be correct to match the top parts but it was finally done and attached to the chassis.
The 8 wheels are next, having 6 parts each x 8, total of 48 parts to complete all
I’m using small plastic tubs labeled with each sub assembly to keep things organized.
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!
The remaining wheel assemblies were completed and the side skirts were added. One side required clamping for proper alignment.
The suspension was completed adding 24 small parts using a toothpick and tweezers
Would this kit qualify for the group build? Was based on Malta, markings are as she was during Operation Torch. Malta is technically part of Europe, so your call! I have a 109 somewhere if this kit is a no-go.

I'm going to stick with the 109, not sure with the details but know it operated out of Africa. This spitfire was based in Malta, bomber escort in operations over Sicily, so the 109 is a better fit.
The Spitfire Vb operated in N.Africa with RAF, RCAF, Polish and South African Squadrons.

The tiny island of Malta, though not part of the African continent, played a major role in stymying the Axis success in NA. Up to John if they would include it.
regards,
Jack
I'll include it. Welcome to the build!
I'll try to update the roster soon for you all; good work, guys!

Hi, John - I'd like to join in the fun, if that's OK? I have Tamiya's 1/35 SAS jeep.
Thanks,
Hutch.

Been very busy these last few days helping my son and his family move so my bench time has been extremely thin but did manage to start on the interior and did some work on the top hull, adding doors and hatches. No engine is included so the engine doors were glued shut. I want to leave as many doors and hatches open to show as much of the interior as possible.
Thank you all (and you AA) for your patience with me; the roster should be fully updated now!
Welcome, Hutch!
Comin' along, PJ! Good work!
I did some more work on my kit, too, this weekend. I plan on having its wings folded. :)
Thanks John.
This is a very slow build due to so many small parts so I've made a small dent in reducing their amount.
Most of the lower hull is done. The upper hull still needs a ton of small parts.
Here's the rear controls
and the front controls
both ip's are ready for paint
Another look at the detailed suspension.
Lot's of sweet detail in that thing, looking good!
Thanks guys. Been busy with house things but plan to work on this turkey very soon.
Finally was able to get some bench time. The 8 rad is ready for interior paint.
A few parts still need to be added once the upper and lower hulls are joined.
The wheels even have the air valve stems
The interoír colors were applied and she’s ready to b closed up.
Both IPs are completed. I will be adding some equipment inside to busy things up a bit.
Man, I hate these long absences from a group build! There's always so much to get caught up on and I miss seeing everyone's great work!
I'm finally back to a normal work schedule and have been busy working on the Pz. I the last few days. The little guy sat idle but assembly is practically done, maybe one or two small parts to install before hitting the paint booth!
I added a DAK commander figure and a resin fuel can set I had in the stash. Other than that its pretty much OOB. Well, I had to swipe some of those missing parts from an Ausf. B kit, but....
Before I send this to the paint booth, I'm going to start working on the British Crusader Mk. I. Hopefully I'll have an assembly update this weekend!
