Man that show was on religiously on the rec deck TV at my electronics tech A school in the Coast Guard. NOBODY changed the channel when it was on.

How about a Kitty GB.  Anything, be it aircraft, helo, armor, car, etc., named or nicknamed for a cat.

Or a Raining Cats and Dogs GB, same premise as above, but including dogs.

That is uncanny!  I had the idea for a cat or just a general animal themed build the other day, at a time when I unfortunately wasn't near the PC and forgot about it by the time I was. 

Cross my heart, that is a true story.

An animal themed GB has lots of options. Could combine subjects named after animals with ones in units named after animals and ones with animal markings on such as shark mouths and tiger strips.

Yeah, you could go with 'The Call of the Wild' or something cheezy like that for a title.

Or 'Nine Lives' GB for the cat theme.

Sounds like a cool idea. Is there as list of vehicles named after animals? OK, we have the Grummans wildcat, hellcat, tomcat, Cesna bird dog (so is it a bird or a dog ), swordfish, baracuda, Me262 swallow, I think there is a salamander too. What else? 

A few more animals for the safari park - Hawker/BAC/BAe Harrier (also the Kestrel), Supermarine Walrus, Supermarine Swift, De havilland Otter, Tiger moth, Gypsy Moth, Sopwith Camel, Sopwith Snipe.  A post-war British super-heavy tank called the Tortoise, another called the Badger (don't know offhand if they actually made it into service), the Scorpion light tank - there's bound to be loads more.

I think the list is almost endless. Check the stash and i am sure we all have somthing.

In cars there are the Mercury Cougar and Bobcat (a rebadged Pinto), Ford Bronco, Mustang, probably some others.  Lot of helos named for animals too, Puma, Cobra, Chinook......F7F, F8F, F9F, F111.....

The Chinook gets its name from the North American Chinook people. Same goes for other some US helo's, Apache, Sioux etc.

True, but is also a species of salmon.  Probably also named as such because of being a major food source for the tribe.

Yeah, all US Army helicoptors are named for American Indian tribes with the sole exception of the Supercobra. But there is yes a species of salmon called the Chinook so you're both right.

The AW159 is the Wildcat, replacment for the Lynx.

Definitely lofs cars to pick from as well. Mustang, Stingray, Impala. One of my grail kits is a Takom G6 Rhino, a South African artillery vehicle. Very bizarre looking subject.

Animal names is a coo idea - includes a lot of vehichles.  Would nicknames count - like Warthog, technically Thunderbolt II.

Also I think a SAR group build would be cool.

Was a "My First GB" GB ever done? Recall what was the topic of the first GB you have ever participated in and build something accordingly.

I’d be interested in that would give me a reason to build the Meng Char 2C or an FT-17 from the Polish-Soviet war.   

i used to do an OTS GB (One True Scale). they get a lot of interest because they are quick builds (except fo me). when photobucket kinda blew up i lost interest looking for another platform easy to upload pics to and from.

If you allowed for equipment new OR USED between 1918 and 1939 than you can do tanks, armored cars, planes and RR for not only the Russo-Polish War of 1920 but the Russian Civil War. SEP1939 would take you to Nomonhan in Manchuria with Japanese stuff.

just a thought. i happen to be a big Russian Civil War and Russo-Polish War buff. May be teaching a 16 hour zoom class on it later this year

Another thought came up in a GB recently.  An adverseries build.

ie. 109 vs Spit, Mustang vs 190, Zero vs Wildcat, etc.  Even could include bomber vs bomber, like Kate vs Avenger.  Any conflict clear up to present day.  Build both.

MC suggested I might host, but I can't seem to finish the ones I join, so would be a lousy choice to host.

OTS GB, aka 1/72 scale, is always a good one because folks take a break from a big model and knock one out in a week or 2. noy sure if i am up for running it again.

i know i did DUCKHUNTERS GB, aka air defense, many moons ago. given my stash  could do my own GB.

I just checked, could not believe its been 8 years since Eagle and myself ran our Duck Hunters GB. So ye, i reckon we are deffinetly over due one.
