I am done, but it does give me the opportunity to add another time permitting.

Thanks for running the GB Brandon, some great work being done here.

I've become increasingly busy of late and it looks to be continuing for the next few months. I am finding it difficult to make to the bench. I have also noticed that many of us are in the same boat. That being said I want to make sure we all have sufficient time to complete our builds. I am going to extend the end of this till July of 23. I think it is more important to have as many people get their kits done than to get it done by a certain date. If this helps us all out great, if it doesn't help, well, no harm done.

BK

Thank you, Brandon it does help me.

Having never attempted a water landing for any of my float planes I am not the one to go to for advice. I am hoping to find the spirit and time, perhaps this winter, to get some of mine on water. We'll see.

Alright guys after my third coat of paint I think I have the base in the shade/texture I desire. I left a small landing area and am going to throw some sort of wake off the backside. I watched some videos of these landing on mostly on calm waters and decided I would go with that over whitecaps. If you dont think it looks as real as it could and that it needs some sort of white on the bigger waves let me know and I will attempt it prior to attaching the plane (open to feedback for sure). I am mostly done with the airplane and just need to attach the antannae. I threw in a few shots of the bottom of the craft before I loctite it to the base.

Wecome TB, we would love to see a Beaver. Haven't had one of those yet. They are a very nice looking older plane. One of my favorite civilian birds in fact. Looking forward to seeing it.

Hello, BK.

I don't know about this. Maybe I shouldn't with my Pic problems, but, here goes. My Choice IS! The Hobby/Craft, 1/72 DHC-2 Beaver/w/Floats. I have it on the bench preparing to take a break from Ships, so, Here Goes! She has a clear Fuselage and so, Lots of masking, in the markings on the Box Top, a U-6A Beaver from Alaska, I like the coloring and the fact it is from the state where two of my Daughters live! See Ya soon!

Below is a rare World War II colorized photograph for our RAF, RAAF and RNZAF fans. I say RAAF and RNZAF because there are several military Bush hats in the photograph.

I see some nice work being done as this GB enters its tenth month. Brandon, you hit a home run with this group build.

I completed assembly and painting of the engines, nacelles, and propellers with exception of painting the propeller tips and exhaust pipes that come out of the top of the nacelles. I might even finish before October 3rd.

Harold

I am just in awe of the quality of your work on this beauty. This one is simply amazing to look at. Such eye appeal. Magnificent.!!

Piers that Curtiss is looking very schmick!

Mach1 That pit is going to look great when it's done. Looks like you've put in a lot of work.

Harold, that PBY is simply magnificent!. Thanks for the photo of the Aussies too, it's a ripper.

PE will certainly test one's patience. Good luck, it looks good so far.

BK

Thanks Brandon. I've been quite literally taking it one piece at a time.

Dodgy: Sopwith looks good. I'm not familiar with that particular plane, so looking forward to it.

Jack: That's going to be a really nice base. Were you planning to add a little froth to some of the waves, or just leave it as calm(ish) water?

LA: The Curtiss is really shaping up nicely. The rigging on the floats looks great, can't wait to see the rest of it tied off.

I've made more progress on the cockpit. I'm currently working on the seat restraints. Just have to add the chains for the lap restraints and paint before installing them on the seats. Other than that I just have a few more tiny resin bits to add and then the cockpit will be finished.

Jack, it is great to see the base coming togehter - a bit of a guide for any of us who may get that brave...

Mach1, love the look of the Romeo, and some good detail going into the cockpit.

Dodgy, That is a lot of fiddly little PE there, but it looks like the model is coming together well.

Now I am onto the rigging the Curtiss. I rigged the floats before gluing them on, then it is onto the wings.

Such a cute little floater. I really like the looks of this one. That rigging looks like my eyes would hurt and my hands would cramp up. Well done.

The pit is looking nice Mach1. Here are some pics of the base. I am going to add more color and am slowly filling back in my landing area with white glue (overdid the cutout). I went a bit deep and am trying to layer just to the right depth. I am also going to hit the plane with flat and assemble most of it for the landing.

Mach1

Here's my first progress update. The pit has been going together well, though I'm just getting to the parts that involve a lot of the PE and small resin parts. Hopefully I'll have noticeable progress to report next weekend.

Great progress there. The pit will look very nice with all that added details.

I have been painting my base and prepping the landing area. Progress pics to follow.

So the fuselage halves are together and the lower wings are on. I have also started in the cockpit.

That PE will certainly test your patience. Looks like it will be very nice when complete. Looking forward to seeing more.

So this is my first real experience with PE, and this lot is just for the cockpit!

Harold: Your Cat looks a bloody ripper mate! I couldn't see anything wrong at all.

Piers: The Curtiss is looking great, love the pilot. Very interested to see how the decal printing goes.

Cheers all

Dodgy, the Sopwith Baby looks interesting, sounds like there will be a bit of work and investigation there.
Jack, looking forward to seeing your method for the water setting.
Brandon, the Kingfisher is looking fantastic, great interior detail there. The Cessna is coming along nicely too.
Harold, super work on the PBY wing. Glad you explained the varnish will make it look darker and how you get the blend into the boundary for the colours.
The curtiss racer is coming along, the painting is done, but the decals are another question as I have to produce the decals and I am trying to paint them on clear decal sheet.
I have painted up the pilot too, trying to get him looking like the anime picture.

Looking really good, LA. The pilot is great, love the stash. Yes
