Mongoose - I look forward to your next update! I enjoy seeing a good 1/72 build, and like to use them myself as a nice pallette cleanser after a rough build.
Weather cooperated, and paint has been applied to the Abrams. Not that it looked that much different from the plastic itself.
Roadwheels are done and installed. Next up is decals, the commander's MG, and the rubber bands. Half of it is covered my the sideskirts, so I won't sweat them too much
I also bought the Legend M1 stowage set to add some life to it. The tankers need some gear after all!
My last thought on the build is to figure out how to scratchbuild, or find something in scale similar to, a 1/35 coffee can. The Abrams commander who gave a lecture on his Desert Storm experience said that it was common for the tanks to put a coffee can over the ID light (the post at the back of the turret) because the light would heat up the can and would show up better on IR.
