Working towards the finish line today. May be able to get back to it after dinner and glue on all the little assemblies and pieces.

Need a little more German camo practice. Not bad for my 1st try tho. Nce this all dries will go back and do some fine touchup. A little weathering should help it all blend together as well. Wish me luck Blind Fold

edit- nope, got some gloss clear on for decals and that's it for the night :-) the boys came over for dinner so family wins out right :-)

Amazing detail and paint there. The first pic had me thinking it was a 1/48. Then I scrolled down and was shocked to see it was a 72nd. Amazing how well you guys make these little ones look.

this is insane. I have been dreading these since I saw them and it's a good thing they give you four. It took all four to get two position lights on the wings. Not surprising, look at how tiny these babies are but they sure do look great

Hey hey secret santa! This BF109 is all done! Today i made a base for her and installed the radio wire. The Tamiya kit itself is superb. Nice decal selection, the latest round of decals are still a bit heavy but nothing like the cloth i feel they used to supply. The resin add ons stand apart from the kit parts ina ll but one area, the exhausts. Not because they don't look better but because they are so hidden you practically can't tell they're resin pieces. All vellejo paints with MCW lacquer clear over them.

One thing i think i need to do is add more chipping on the wing. Looking at the verhead shot you can't see anything. Overall a valiant effort and a good looking aircraft for the display case.

Hi, all! I understand I've been a kinda delinquent in photo-posting, but I have not quit!

My half track is coming along rather well....we'll, as long as you discount the one antenna that I broke and re-glued and broke and broke and re-glued and etc. (Yeah, that was tough lol) Either wat, here she is:

I also happened to have another of this same kit that I had started some time back but that I had neglected. So, I thought why not finish that one, too, and put the two half tracks together in a Stalingrad diorama?

So, here's my halftrack's twin:

Then, here's the result of a bit of diorama preparatory work:

I also was in Walmart looking for a hot wire foam cutter and as I reached to get something, a product fell and resulted in the breaking of two clay pots. So, I got those knowing they might make some good Stalingrad rubble once I crushed them up even more....(leave it to a modeler to break clay pots and be like, "Hey, I needed these anyway; and besides, I wouldn't have wanted to buy a perfectly good pot just to destroy it...." Lol Wink)

Halftrack/s looking good there. Nice to see your face here again. We are all looking forward to your progess. And remember, your mother told you "don't touch it, you'll break it!" Now you see why. Looks like it will work you in your favor though. Keep up the great work.

Hey all, long time no see.  I have been in a kind of rut these last couple months, I'd sit at my model table and just hem and haw over what to do.  Oh well, all those days of working on a piece or two, literally, have finally paid off!

All that is left is a little more drybrushing to tone some areas of the wash down, add a few more stowage pieces, another flat coat, and a dusting of pigments before I will call my first Abrams finished!

The stowage is Legends M1 set, it was great and I still have plenty of pieces left over for the spares box.

By the way, I like that kit of Mongoose's so much, I picked up one of my own.  Hope it looks half as good when I get to it....

Robert, that M1 looks great the crew really look fantastic. I love the weathering you've done here, really looks the part. Can't wait to see more.

I too have become a bit of a fan of the good quality 72nd kits of late. I typically don't do them as I am not a fan of the scale, but those Tamiya ones are quite nice. I will have to do the same and pic some up.

For those not aware, Art Waugh, AKA Goldhammer, has passed away. He was always a good friend and never a bad word word to say. His kind words and advise were always appreciated and will sorely be missed. He was a long time, steadfast member of nearly all my GB's. I really have very few words to express my sadnes atm. Boo Hoo

The same applies for modelers. There must be some crazy nice stuff up there.

Well, my twin 'tracks have come far, gotten a nice paint coat of dark gray, decals, and hard core weathering...they certainly ain't new anymore! Here's the pics. (As you can tell, my fight with the antennae and mirrors took a turn against me. For now, I figure just leave them off and save that fight for after I'm done excessively handling the trucks.)

Oh yeah, and one more thing: I started the diorama a bit. Dirt road and rubble is what I envision, but right now its kind of a Mars landscape minus the red of course.

Looks good John!  What was your brand/shade/recipe for the Panzer gray?  I frequently struggle with finding a "right" one  to my eyes for early war German armor, but that looks mighty good to me.
