Thanks!  Pleased with it overall for my first kit (due to relocating) in a year.  Though I need to change out the antenna wire - looks like rebar lol

Thanks,

John

WOW! You did a beautiful job on her John!!! Kudos sir!

I wouldn't worry about the lower side too much. Sorry you went though so much trouble but sometimes you have to redo her till you get her how you like.

Just updated the front page.

First time I ever had negative results from Flory wash - must be incomplete clearcoat on the bottom.  Went with old pastels for light weathering.

BTW - first model done in the new house.  Been about a year!

Anyhow - she's done.  Pick whichever pic you like for the front page

Lots of residue left over from the Flory wash...not sure what happend but I figured the bottom of a seaplane would be dirty anyway :)

Thanks,

John

So I repainted the rufe again Indifferent but now I like it.  Got the clearcoat/decals/dull coat on.  Can't decide on which wash to apply so testing sand & grey.

Thanks,

John

More to come.  I cant let that seam on the nose go.  She's all cut up and I'm looking at Mr Color gray.  We will see.

Thanks,

John

I've thought some of the Tamiya colours look really off.

Great work there and nice correction!

After doing some research I figured Tamiya  XF-76 was the color... looks way too green so I'll have to do something like an IJN grey over it.  Cowl is the right color from Mr Color.  Grrr...

Thanks,

John

In the new house, shop set up and I'm building!

A lot of folks finally getting their roots back down and building again. Great to see some work flowing from your bench again. Looking forward to it all.

Oh wow that still looks great though! Love how the washes (I'm assuming) picked out the cockpit detailing. It's a friggin' shame to cover all that up.

Thanks, I actually used Tamiya Smoke for the wash, with a bit on thinner and retarder thrown in.

I am thinking about some what-if markings for my ki-61...

Looks good! I'd love to see you use that scheme. Heart

Thanks.

waikong

Those little side console levers, each painted a different color, in 1/72! You my friend have some steady hands.

I may have steady hands (still) but it's really not that hard considering that box with the levers on it is a separate piece. Just need an optivisor and a small brush or toothpick.

Thanks John, Did not realized Tamiya did 'Series' -- I thought that was a Hasegawa thing :-)
