Got started on my Shiden kit, its an older kit with raised panel lines. The cockpit is not too bad, but the rear panel/radio area is 85% made up. No radio, and mostly fake grouping of cylinders.
So based on photos from National Air & Space Museum which has the remaining original one in storage, I've redid the rear deck with plastic sheets and. Of course once you start, you cant stop, decided to add misc framing and missing consoles to the side walls. Added some old Reheat PE console items.
Next was a black primer followed by cockpit green. Added more misc left over PE items, misc piping from solder or lead, Eduard seat belts, and painting the misc knobs and switches. Finally some black and brown oil washes to make everything pop. The rudder was moved up, as once everything was put in place, the pilot had to have 5 foot long legs to reach them.
I just finished up the panel as is with dark gray paint, and detailed picked out with a silver pencil and some paint. Only added a cross bar to the bottom and a misc 'thing' (Have no idea what it is, but it was in the picture). I was going to add more wiring onto the floor and under the panel, but you have to call it quits at some point.
So everything mounted in.
