Hey, can I get in on this? I have a few AM kits sitting around just waiting for a reason to start.

Let's see, you did say any AM kit, right? OK, I'll do the McLaren M8B I have on the top shelf. Wink [;)]

Seriously, I'll try the A-36. I built one of those a few years ago and loved the kit. That particular A-36 (and several other models) were smashed to bits by Neanderthal Van Lines during a relocation. I've been wanting to build another A-36 once I stop crying 'n cussing about the old one. No time like the present.

Now if I can only talk my wife into buying a digital camera so I can post pics.....

Wish it was that easy to win the lottery, then I wouldn't have to beg and plead for models or supplies.Banged Head [banghead]

ok lads - i'm a sucka for punishment - count me in! But I'll start in August some time - other GB's going on my workbench!

Went to my LHS yesterday - eyed 48th B-25 Doolittle!
But I heard AM was releasing TBM 'Flight 19' this year in March (check out FSM Future Kit Releases for 2004). I checked their website and nothing! I couldnt find anything in AM's rumour-mill forum - does anyone else know about this?, cos I dont want to do an Avenger conversion if AM is releasing the Model in that config!

You can count me in, John. I just ordered an A-36 with Eduard PE (includes the dive brakes !) & Three Guys aftermarket sheet. I've already done the one with the 190(?) mission markings (you can see it in Accurate Miniatures gallery - its the in-flight pic), so I wanted different markings.

If anyone else is considering an A-36, Squadron has them on sale for $16.99.

Well got some of the paints I needed for the Il-2m3 and the Yak-1. The only problem that I have is that my LHS didnt have the Interior Grey-Green in the MM variety. I dont feel like driving 50 miles (ok so I stretched it out, really about 30 miles) to the HobbyTown near Baltimore. The LHS did have the russian interior grey/blue and an interior blue/green. My question is can I replicate the interior grey-green with any of those colors?

Im using a Acrylic MM Russian Armor Green!! So what? The Russian had no rules for the paint!

And gray-green is good.

I bought these colors for my YAK-1 today at Hobby Lobby for the interior USSR Fulcrum grey/green and Russian topside blue for, yeah you guessed the underside of the plane. As Easy said it seems that there isnt a standard for USSR colors. The literature with my YAK-1 even confirms this. Now for my question I intend to finish the aircraft like the box and the instructions state that the winter white top coat applied over the standard camo was put on hastily even with mops and such and it was intend to wear off on its own if this is the case should iI air brush the camo and the apply the top finish with a brush? or would the brush stroke be way out of scale? As I stated im trying to replicate the YAK on the back off the box and the camo is visible in several areas.

I got an idea that covers all AM models - the AM logo - but that may breech copyright laws, but we aint selling anything using it . . . and besides, it's as if we are giving free advertising when we display the logo - a free plug Smile [:)]

What great timing! My IPMS also has a GB that involves the AM TBF-1C! How about that! Can i still get in on this even though I'm not using the AM decals and we're (i think) fabricating our own wing fold resin sets?

Hi EasyCo and all, I've a few AM kits waiting for their turn on the bench, so count me in. Wont be able to start for a while because of other commitments, but can handle your completion date. Still have to decide which kit, but if the promised Vindicator comes out, the choice will be made.

EasyCo - you have to email David Voss or the Admin person to make this a sticky post. Go to the General Discussion Forum and look at the post titled "Community Grp Bld". Just use the email short-cut and ask. I did this for the Auto Racing Car Group Build and they did it within 24hrs - wow!

Hey EasyCo

I think you missed my post saying I would join in, but probably wont start a build until August. I'll do a Vindicator if a miracle happens & AM actually releases one by then. If not, either a Yak or a F3F. Probably the F3F-2 since no one else has picked that kit so far.
