Hey there easyco!

Sorry for the delay, I haven't checked in for a couple of days, yes I would like to get in on the group build too.

Go ahead and put me down for the IL-2 two seater, I've had it and the paints ready to go for some time now, thanks for the chance to break em' out for this project.Big Smile [:D]

I got the PE parts into the A-36 Apache cockpit and painted it today. I'll post pics after the wash & drybrush are done.

You're almost done, John? Have you given up sleep? Laugh [(-D]
Looking forward to the pics !

scottrc All the AM kits I have have a clear instrument panel, Im not sure how others handle this but I apply decals to the backside of the panel and then i paint the backside of the panel. Then i dry brush or use a silver pencil to the front side and add appripriate paint to switches and other details, this seeems to work for me Im interested in how others do theirs as well.

Thanks for your process, this is kinda new to me in a kit as detailed as the AM SBD. I didn't know if I could put the decals on top of or behind the clear plastic. I guess it will look really great to have actual glass bezels although I normally drill them out and use jewelers cement to simulate the glass.

I drilled the bezel then I put the "clear parts cement & window maker" That would make the bezel and decals in the back. It works well.

This is free hand for the camo. The paint is acrylic MM Russian Armor Green and Dark Earth. Plus the Polly Scale are acrylic too. The name is USSR Underside Blue. And very blue indeed. If i didnt see the Discovery Wings that had that Flying Tank ,I would not believe that was so BLUE!

Geeze, John. You'll have your Stormovik finished before I can paint mine, and I started before you. I think I'll put the single-seater in here with the rest of the AM kits.

Looking sharp, Easy Co !

EasyCo, I hope to get in on this one, but i have to see how the USMC and the NMF group builds go until then I will not know. I have six of those AM kits on the shelf already. Two of my Mitchells are already started so I might go with them. Also I want to make two suggestions. Now that you have started a GB it really is a good idea to post your Email address. I have gotten a lot to mine already so just something to think about. Second put all of the entrants on the first post on the first page as I did in mine and Gardydmason did on his at my suggestion. Thats all tuttles and good luck to all. I'll keep tabs on this and see how the other two work out.

I've gotten the interiors done on the Apache. I'm using Eduard's PE detail set, which is VERY easy to use on this kit. The colors are Model Master enamels (tires are Color of Eagles tire black), enamel wash, and an enamel & oil mix drybrush. This kit is small & easy, compared to my other recent builds. I only have to assemble the airframe, clean the seams, and paint. The most difficult part, so far, has been removing the closed dive brakes from the wings and thinning the plastic to the same depth. The wheel covers will be open, so maybe I'll also drop the flaps. It doesn't seem too complicated with this kit.
