Thanks tigerman, I'm going to need all the luck I can get, since it's about 20 years ago since my last tank.
Normally I do civilian (motorcycles) and military aircraft...

Sounds cool Dan, good luck. I think it would me a rememberance to the brave crew who served on her.

I'm going O.D with the Academy Hellcat.

Hi, normally I'm not really an armor-guy, but since this GB is about something that happened in my country, would like to give it a try.
No I have an idea, but I don't know if you would accept it as Battle of the Bulge (we actually call it the Battle for the Ardennes) GB :

Eversince the end of the war, one of the Shermans that were left behind is placed on a pedestal in the center of Bastogne, I was thinking, of making a diorama, not of the actual battle, but of people visiting this monument, remembering the people who have given their lives for our freedom.

But offcourse, if you don't accept this, I could be doing the battle-thing instead...

BTW, unfortunately the crew of this tank didn't make it, it was hit anti-tank weapon

OK, gonna do the M20 as Patton's Command Car. Just have to make a windshield, command plates for the car, and, oh, yeah, gotta get a Patton fig...anyone have an extra "Famous Generals" set from Tamiya Big Smile [:D]

ddayomaha,
You'll have a wonderful time with Academy's M-18. I've built that kit and thouroghly enjoyed it. My only word of caution is: be patient and take your time with the suspension, it can be a bit of a bear (especially when you mix up right and left assemblies.)

okay......thanks.

I've firmly decided to do something I have never done before. I'll do the diorama. 1/35 scale using DML and Verliden figures and Accessories, I suspect.

Time for research

Okay I'll put you on the list but I wont put down a kit until you decide, unless you're doing both

I'd like to be in on this.......undecided if I want to do a small section of 101st AB frontage ( fox holes and/or bunkers diorama) or say an M16 half track.

The jeep was used for years...I hope that this is a WWII vintage and not say a Korean War vintage jeep.

Note: I have now researched the kit and it is a WWII version of the Jeep so it will work for the build.Smile [:)]

What do you mean by vintage?

I think I'll throw my helmet into the ring on this one. I will be building Dragon-Hasagwa's 1/24th scale jeep kit. Just ordered the kit, said it was in stock, hope it's the right vintage.

I put it in the Armor GB sticky post and in Aircraft, Figures, and Dioramas as well. Good subject. We're planning on having some Battle of the Bulge coverage in the January 2005 issue, which hits the streets ca. Dec. 1--right around the time BoB anniversary news coverage and specials on PBS, The History Channel, etc. should be coming on. Have fun!
