LOL. No rush buddy! Fighterguru talked me into keeping this open ended this year (Come in where you can, finish when you can). I'm glad I did that now and I know I'm going to take advantage of that!

Question [?] Question is, what kind of Hawg are you going to build? Question [?] Somehow I suspect it'll be Helo Drab with "United States Army" on the side...Big Smile [:D]

Well New Year's about a week away and here's a kind of preliminary list so far as to who's interested. Please, let me know if I've left you out or if you'd like your name removed...

Trigger74 - 1/48 Thundebolt GR.1 or A-10M USMC or A-10E AFSOC
djmodels1999 - 1/144 Swedish A-10
(?) LemonJello - USMC A-10
balta1 - USN A-10N or RAF A-10
9x19mm - USN A-10
Cruzr - 1/72 CAF A-10
lodni_k - Mexican AF A-10 or Peruvian AF A-10P
(?) Awood23 - LAPD SWAT A-10 or A-10 racer
reggiethedorf - LAPD SWAT A-10
rockythegoat - A-10 Firehog or USN A-10

(Oh yeah, this is still an open-ended build so if you're like me an can't start right away, that's cool!)

Screen name is my name over on the Model Railroader forums. Depending on the day, I'm either an HO railroader who builds models, or a Plastic Modeler who has trains. Confused [%-)] My preferred railroad is the Great Northern and their mascot was.....get ready for it....here it comes.....its gonna be a surprise....."Rocky the Mountain Goat!" Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]

And my signature was misleading. I'm building an MH68, using the Revell A109 kit. I've changed my sig so it reflects that. Hate to see someone spend hours trying to find a kit that doesn't exist.Blush [:I]

A variation of the first one, "If you ain't cheatin', then you ain't trying" was a one of the three basic rules of ACM at Topgun (The others being "Speed is life" and "Lose sight - lose the fight").

And of course, everyone here (should) know Churchill's famous speech about "The Few" - "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few."

Dunce [D)] I should have known that other one was Patton.

Trigger: Count me in. My preference is either after 1/05 or open-ended, but, what the h---, the more the merrier!

I'm gonna shoot for 1/72 FireHog or a USN strike version. Unknown kit as yet.

LOL - Probably not! When one thinks of speed, the Hog's not the first bird that comes to mind, but that's a really cool (and original) idea.

Thanks!

Now don't get me wrong, I like the red/yellow scheme a lot. But personally I think there's something cool about a Hog wearing camouflage and loaded to play, and that why I went with the three finalists that are there now. It's supposed to look like an ugly workhorse.

I think the best way for the FireHog schemes to work would be to weather them a LOT - as in "Star Wars" studio model level weathering. These things would be used a great deal and ground crews wouldn't have time to wash them/repaint them. Also, a true "A-10F" would have to have it's cannon removed, no weapons or even pylons and a big @$$ tank bolted underneath the fuselage to carry fire retardant/water and I'd hate to de-fang my Hog!

But again, that's just my opinion! Hopefully something on that page will give someone an idea and those schemes aren't just "mine." Anyone is welcome to use them, or if they have something they'd like to see, let me know and I'll whip it up!

Thank you for the correction Manuel! Thumbs Up [tup]

Such are the pitfals of a computer-based translator, and for all the Spanish speakers out there - I'm sorry I mutilated your language like that Dunce [D)]

Dear Trigger:

About your translation:

Would one then call it "Cerdo?" "Rayo?" (Man, I really hope my Spanish is right. If either of those words is off-color then I apologize in advance! )

the right is "Jabali" I think, I mean, wild pig... about the Peruvian Mi-25 decals is available at:

http://www.aztecmodels.com/cenepa/FAP1.htm

I hope this help you.

Best regards

Manuel

Cool [8D]Well, I don't have any decals for the ROK AF. But I do have a great sheet of Mexican AF stencils from Aztec! Or, since my girlfriend is from Peru, how bout a A-10P to go with my Peru Army Mi-24 Hind! Big Smile [:D]

Either of those would be very cool! A South American Hawg would make a lot of sense due to the number of A-37s that served with Latin and South American air forces for so long. It would stand to reason they'd need to be replaced by something!

With any luck this week I can post links to potential color schemes I'm considering using. Maybe get some feedback to help me make a decision as to what I'll build!

Got my 1/144 LS in the mail today! Nice little kit, even if the office is sparingly detailled. But at that scale...

You know if Law Enforcement started using A-10's to go after drug dealers AND the producers I think you see less dealers on the street :)

An LAPD SWAT-Hog - that's frightening on so many levels. I have to admit, at first I thought, "Nah, that's really not very plausible." but the more I got to thinking about it, if there's a good back-story/explination behind it, why not? It's exploring the boundaries, but it's still not SciFi. Besides, LAPD already has APCs...

This could be really interesting. I've heard some really great suggestions out there from you guys; now if I can settle on a Hog myself, I'l be all set...
