Military Cargo Truck Group Build
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 12:07 PM
Hello,
Would anyone like to participate in a Cargo Truck Group Build? If so here are the rules:
-any thing goes.
-any scale.
-any era
-aftermarket ok
if you want to do a dio. that's fine. It dosn't matter to me. The start date will be January 1st 2005. I wont have an end date until some people join. But there will be one. As long as it is military it is good. By this I mean troop transporters, 2 1/2 t, 5t what ever. as long as it carrys cargo or troops and is military its fine.

Thank you,
Seakinght

If you are in just say so.

I'd like to have a go at this. Strickly OOB for now. At some later date I want to make a M936A1 like I drove in the Corps and this will give me some much-needed practice! :)

This has got my interest.

Years ago I bought a Mack trailer unit and logging trailer in about HO scale does this qualify or is "cargo" restricted to closed and open decked trucks Question [?]Question [?]Question [?] If yes then I'm in if not then maybe it'll hang out in the cupboard for a bit longer.

A little more guidence would be nice:

Cargo truck is fairly broad, gas tanker truck? 2 1/2 ton troop carrier? HEMMT fire engine? 5 ton Guntruck? LRDG Chevy truck? 2 1/2 ton military truck converted to a civilian water tender, the semi from the Road Warrior etc

So I might be interested, I have lots of possible ideas but it depends on where you draw the line.

I may find a set of AM super single wheels for the Italeri kit I have - all the 5 tons we had when I was at 7th Motor Transport BN on Camp Pendleton had those, except for the shelter carriers & the 5th wheelers.

O, ok. I was planning on doing a build with the Italeri M923A1 converting it into a gas truck & maybe a bit of accurization using AM parts. I might still have the time for this. Anyway this is not yet final but I'm interested.

Humm... fuel truck. I've got a M-978 that has an inch of dust on it. I'd like to switch & build that, If no one minds. No P.E. or anything,so when I do get the update set for the thing I'll know what to expect. - Calvin

I would like to do this build if possible. I have an Italeri 5-ton (Bigfoot) and an ICS Ural 4320 available as well as a Testor Dodge Weapons Carrier that could be built for this one if you'll have me. The 5-ton is partly done already, but it has been in progress for about 7 years now Blush [:I] and I suppose it could wait until January 1st! Shouldn't be that much more dust to knock off of it.
