Ohh dear. VERY NICE!!!!! I should really speed up my mig. I just sprayed the outside tailfins, but they need 2 or 3 more coats. Still not telling what the paint scheme is!!! main camo is sprayed though. Pics up by friday, I promise!

My second Skunk Works project is a Mig-27 Flogger D that belonged to President Hassad of Syria during 1986. It is the Hasegawa 1/72 kit painted with Model Masters enamel paints. It is armed with a 23mm six barrel gatling gun under the fuselage, two AA-2 Atoll Air to Air missiles under the air intakes, 2 37 round, 57 mm rocket pods under the wing gloves and two 250 Kg cluster bombs on racks under the aft fuselage.

There has been some secret building going on at my private "Skunk Works" recently. Two more Migs have emerged from the "Black World" to the "white". The first is a Mig-23 Flogger owned by Pres. Khadafi of Libya, vintage 1976. These markings were used at that time before the switch to plain green rectangle on the fin and a green circle on the intake side. This is the Hasegawa 1/72 kit and it is armed with AA-8 Aphyd Air to Air Missiles under the fuselage flanking either side of the Gsh-23 twin barreled 23mm cannon. The big red and white missiles under the wing glove are AA-7 Apex, IR missiles.

I haven't gotten much done lately- busy weekend with the competition and stuff. And I have to do a research paper for school... no time for the necessary airbrushing. I NEED to finish by may because it's the NY and north east regionals. So I need to kick the construction speed up a notch.

Sean, looking forward to seeing yours complete. I need to get another MiG 29 and make it German with your color scheme. Mine now sports a ground attack style green/OD/brown pattern. Hey, I was following the instruction sheet on the kit!

Keep going on those builds people! Cool [8D]

Cheers Duke
I got this site from somewhere that does Camo Schemes , I then got the matches in Humbrol satin and flat colors i used 129 satin for the underside , 127 satin for the light grey , 145 Flat for the dark grey

Thanks everyone! Lofty, I appreciate the great comments. I like this color pattern too, although I wasn't sure I would with it having grey in it, but it does look good.

Yeah Darwin, they do; and I have a lot of Israeli planes to go after him too! Thanks for the compliment.

Nice Mig-21, Duke. Another target for the Israeli's. They seem to like Syian Fishbeds.

Sounds good Tanky! Still waiting for pics, hopefully you'll have them up soon.

Meanwhile, I have completed my third MiG for this Group Build. Here is my Syrian MiG 21 ready for more combat over the Bekaa Valley:

Now, I shall take a rest from this to finish a few more builds. I'll be stopping back in occasionally to see everyone's progress. After all, I still need to see Tanky's MiG!

that's a cool looking scheme on the fishbed. i like the colors.

i've started my 1/48 fulcrum. progress will be slow as i've recently started a new job and working 10 hours a day, which leave me very time for modeling. still early on build line as i'm still still working on the cockpit. i'm using eduard PE set + a verlinden resin seat. will post pics as soon as i've made some real progress.

Have AB'd camo. Spotted some missed spots. Will fix those tomorrow. One tailfin fell off. Dries as we speak. Tank out.

Sorry 'bout the pictures, Duke! Ashamed [*^_^*] Hopefully I will manage to get better ones next time ...
I do like your MiG! I prefer "old-fashioned" and colourful camos on the aircrafts and not those newer grey-painted and low-viz ones.

OK, resanded the seams, and resprayed on top, and sprayed for first time one bottom. She's gonna be ready for camo whenever I have the time... which won't be soon, probably..

Hey Mick, Those pics kinda hurt the eyes. Still, it looks like you're making great progress. That's a good idea painting the MiG 23's wings before putting them inside the fuselage. Amazing, something so simple and it never occurred to me to do it! Your work is looking great, keep it up!

Here are some pictures of my progress. Even if the pictures are quite bad, I think you can get the idea.
The Iraqi MiG-15:

and the Cuban MiG-23:

Looking great so far Tankmaster! I can't see the seam issue you mentioned in the one pic, so I can't offer any suggestions. I am impressed by the way this is looking.

Lofty, looking forward to seeing your MiG. My wife was born in Cuba, so this should be interesting. BTW She's full Chinese too!

Now here's my progress on my Syrian MiG 21 from the Bekaa Valley. I got it painted and part of the canopy is on. I will clean up the seam there when it all dries. The front part of the canopy isn't on because I had to trim the instrument panel shroud before the front part of the canopy would fit. I can't believe Fujimi didn't get that right! Anyway, I took the picture while the paint was drying so I could at least show everyone my camouflage pattern:

All that is left is to paint the weapons racks, clearcoat it, decal it, and then seal it. Then I can add the weapons to it and declare it done.

I have an Academy 1/48 mig-29 that i'll start working on in the next few days. The Cuban AF decals are in the mail. Hopefully my build will make the May deadline.

Academy kit with eduard and aires. will have hi-decals decals. Right now it has base coat of fulcrum grey on top only bottom still needs to be sprayed, and then the camo and various other bits. Tell me what you think.

This one is before it was painted.

Bit of seam roughness visible here. Any ideas on how to fix it?

showing of sleek lines in this pic.

Your Fulcrum looks very nice, indeed. You and DukeMaddog are simply amazing to me. You accomplish more building in a week than I can in a month or two. Congratulations on a great build.

Cheers Darwin ,
the reason for the quick build was i had a week off ,but theres still quite a bit to do on her mainley cosmetic ,
but she dosen't look too bad , this one was straight OOB ,
all i added was some seat belts , but i didn't pay too much attention to the cockpit as i wanted a closed canopy on this build ,
soon as she's finished i'll show the finished item
