Great Pic!!!

Ok - my F-16D has been repainted- I think that the colors are right now, anyway looks good to me - so I have sealed it with future and am preparing to place the decals. The Viper looks really mean with all the LGB's slung under the wings!!! Looking at adding AIM-9's to the outer pilons and wing tips for a total of 4 but am unsure of the colors. Anyone know where I could find some good color pics of sidewinders?

Well done Frosty. I think NMF will look good on that bird. Can't wait to see it done.

I'll pass the word to the Beagle. I'm having rootbeers with him today in the french cafe down the street. Wink [;)]Clown [:o)]

Here we go
Here are some pics that I have been saying I'll post for ages and now I've finally got around to doing it !!!!

This is a view of the top of my typhoon, as you can see I've added the decals and all that needs doing is a wash , a flat coat , final assembly of components , and a slight weathering using my airbrush and pastels.

This out of focus shot shows the bottom of the plane , showing my first attempt at masking and spraying D-day stripes which might I add turned out surprisingly well!

However, I'll be doing essentially the same thing to the model though.
stuka: great looking typhoon there! Can't wait to see it finished!
NEWS FLASH: my Hornet is officially complete! I'll be posting pics later today hopefully.
Cheers,
John

My Viper is complete - flat coat shot, stores added the works, and then I remove the mask from the canopy and it leaves tons of the adhesive on the canopy. I painted a replacement one (nice to have 2 of the same kit!! Big Smile [:D] ) and then used superglue to put it on.Oops [oops] It looked great until the glue dried and all over the inside is crazed from the fumes!!!! Censored [censored] I think that I'll be dipping it in future tonight and then trying to glue it on again!! I'll get some pics up as soon as I can!!

Well guys - as promised here are some pics of my completed F-16 D Viper

Hope you like it, I thought that it was a great kit to build, would be a great choice for a modeler without a ton of experience.

Just to refresh your memories - I had to repaint the bird after I realized that the grey on the bottom was too dark and then when I glued the canopy on it crazed!!! I dipped the clear canopy in Future, man that stuff is awsome, and it got rid of the clouding!!! And as a last straw - right after I took these Pics one of the 2000lb bombs and pylon fell off of the wing, but all in all it was a straight forward and easy build!!!

Any and all comments are welcome

Simce this build is still going on, I think it is time for a boost. I am now going to post some pics showing my progress on my Saudi Arabian BAC Strikemaster. This is the 1/72 scale Airfix kit re-boxed by MPC.

Here is the first shot showing the fuselage put together:

Here is the control panel in the cockpit. I hand painted it:

Here is a shot of the wing all put together:

And here is the fuselage and wing all assembled:

I have already cleaned all the seams, and filled all the gaps and sanded it down. so it looks better now. There is also some more construction completed on it. I'll post pics of that later.

Comments are welcome.

And here is a new shot of my Strikemaster with the landing gear installed. She's sitting pretty on her three (?) legs!

Now all I have to do is get it painted, clearcoated, decaled, and dullcoated, and she'll be finished.

Like Nike says, I 'just do it'! I guess things go fast for me because I have so many projects going at once. It's really hard to say....

Yesterday I had pulled down the Strikemaster and went to work on it. I had already gotten the final details installed on the aircraft and installed the canopy. After that, I got the camouflage painted on:

Later I added additional details to the plane.

While waiting for the silver coat to dry on the Magister, I clearcoated the Strikemaster and when it was dry, I applied the decals. Finally; another clearcoart and this bad boy is done:

There it is, my second build for this Group Build. Comments are welcome!

Very nice build, Duke! Great job! Thumbs Up [tup] I would suggest a wash over the whole model before the clearcoating, to accentuate the flaps, ailerons and other raised detail. But, on the whole, great job!
Cheers,
John

Hi all Bow [bow] Hope that you are all well ! Big Smile [:D]

I know it has been a while since I have posted, but I would never forget my fellow modelers!
Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

There has been great progess in a number of the a/c put to this group build. I must say that the modern a/c are looking fantastic, and Frostys bi-plane, to die for! [tub]Wow!! [wow]

Pics of my a/c can be found at users.bigpond.com/kazadz in the images page.

My next project is a Roden Albatros, but I am having AWFUL times trying to find WWI Blue.
Boohoo [BH]

Frosty - would certainly be interested in starting a WWI Biplane Group Build.
Might start on that today (after I have ANOTHER tentative look in the box of the Albatros)

So, I am around, but have had some problems with the pages of this GB loading, so was away for a while.

Will post pics here as soon as I can remember how.

Love the biplanes, they are always great looking aircraft. Wish that I had the courage to go after one of those kits maybe I'll get one soon.

Great work.

EDIT - since this has become an unending build I will probably add my F-18E and F Super Hornets and perhaps another F-16 with all the newest goodies like the conformal fuel tanks and the dorsal spine. Should give me something to do this fall when the weather gets crappy here!!
