Just checked out the Maple Leaf Up site as forwarded above... most excellent, if you've a passion for the Canadian stuff, check it out!

I've an Italeri M113A1 mouldering on the shelf here. A while ago I did one up (I think it was a Tamiya) as a Canadian Forces, Europe, but it died when my nephew got it. This one'll be a UN Peacekeeping APC; I figger also the paintjob'll be simple, at least. Lots of ejector marks tho'... bah. I will survive.

thats interesting, on the weekend i bought the exact same pair of planes, with the same idea, but they're 1/32! just thought it was a bit of a coincidence. bet yours are done firstTongue [:P]
anyway, I'd be into getting in this build, Id do a monogram 1/48 voodoo from 416 Lynx sqn, and/ or CF-18 with fancy leading edge decals. Probably the voodoo, since I've been wanting to build it for ages, and finally found 2 kits in one weekend on a trip.

I think the time suits me quite well. Hopefully I have time to finish (most of) the other GB's I'm in!
So, may I join! For this GB, I will build a 1/72 Italeri #084 kit as a Bell CH-146 Griffon in SFOR/CF service in Bosnia.

First of all, Congrats on the new house Party [party] but secondly... sounds like you are going to be getting up in the middle of the night after your wife is asleep to get any modeling done. Hope you don't get caught Black Eye [B)]. LOL How long did you say you've been married?

Great idea razor, as Captain Jean Luc Picard said once (or twice):
"Mr. Data, Make it so!"

Okay everybody. Do what Razor did above and put in a pic of what you are building, or just use one of the badges that have been offered, which ever you like. (I would suggest using the frame Razor did up as mine the words are kind of fuzzyDunce [D)])

They look great Jay! Thumbs Up [tup] I think we should use the basic frame as the standard and then let everyone insert a picture of whatever they are building. Like this for mine except I changed the text to make it more readable (but will change it back if you don't like itSmile [:)]).

If anyone needs help editing the badge with their own picture I'd be glad to help.

Cool cdclukey, your in!

So after seeing what you came up with for badges, this is what I had in mind

I like the idea of the arrow badge.
This way people have a choice as to what subject they are doing. Obviously each image is Canadian, the ship is the HMCS Iroquois (as if you can't tell!), the planes, are obvious a CF18 and Avro Arrow and the armour is a Lav25.Cool [8D]

Hope you guys like it. Maybe someone should make an executive decision?Tongue [:P]

Here is a list of those interested so far:

Jboutin, I did some looking around and I'm a definite. I will be building one of the CF-104 kits from Hasegawa in 1/72.

I'll give it some thought. I don't have anything planned past the end of the Pz II GB that ends in October. I'll just need to find a kit worth doing, and that doesn't require massively cutting up an existing kit to make it accurate. I'm not good enough at that yet to take that on. It will be a vehicle of some sort.

On the bench: 1/32 Spit IXc

Wow, Razor, I really like the one you did with the Armed Forces Crest, you can even read the Canadian GB words!Thumbs Up [tup]

Please, let me reiterate that I would like to plan on a FALL BUILD
(ie. Sept to December 2005)

I am busy for the next few months and I know the summer is going to get crazy for me (and I am sure most of you too).Tongue [:P]

Thanks for the support guys, I'm going to edit the original post so that we have a list of 'maybes' and for those who said 'for sure'.

ok, put me down as a maybe. i decided long ago not to join anymore GBs, but i cant not join a canadian one. will this be open for what if builds? for example; a canadian leopard 2A6? i have built 2 canadian armour before, and 2 canadian military aircraft before.

for those looking for canadian MBTs, i'll try to help a bit:
i'm not sure about ww1
ww2:
matilda
churchill
valentine
ram
ram2
sexton
priest
sherman
firefly
Archilles
Archilles II

postwar:
sherman 76
centrion
leopard 1

and i guess i'll give this link, my homepage, it has a few canadian ww2 vehicle reference pictures, and 1 modern canadian tank (the ADATS)
http://kv188g.freestarthost.com/
needs alot of work, but i stopped after i got alot of problems with this computer. to resume updates this weekend i hope.

what if we were to use something like this for the badge

i know it's just representing ww2, but it might work.

cdclukey: I'll keep you posted. It's looking like I'll start it as soon as I get the kit. Unfortunately, time is not on my side with this one. If that is the case i'll pick something else for the GB, perhaps a Lancaster in memory of the other grandfather. I'm looking forward to the Snowberry. It'll be my first attempt at a ship.
