ummmm neither i think. Lacquers are lacquers. Enamels are oil based. but lacquers most definitely ARE NOT WATER BASED.

Good News, Reb. Sorry about your grandma. I can't imagine it. I'm lucky, mine are still ok.

John I'm really sorry about your grandparents.

I created a mottle mask by cutting spots out of card stock, and then used blobs of blu tack to attach them to the surface, and sprayed on RLM 71 with my trusty Anthem 155.

Weathering comes after I flat coat it. I'm not going to go too heavy on it. Just exhaust stains and some paint chipping. I already emphasized the panel lines with a sharp pencil.

well, as i predicted, the tracks were a REAL BIG PAIN!!1 i had to cut off two track links, then melt the two pieces together, and they wouldnt stick together!!! i tried holdin them together with some glue (not good idea: it says flammable.....) i realized i melted too much (one tooth desapeared!!) so now i have to somehow cover this up. (gulp)

wow, you guys r movin along. congrats stuka on the 500 by the way.

just back to the question of what to do in my school the rest of the time, while the excitment afforded by girls in the classroom can be quite nice, not having them there lets everybody relax. nobpdy's really tryin to be macho or sh!t, we can goof around, and besides, ive never taken a note in any class this whole year, and i still got first honors last quarter.

back to builds- snag on the tank bunker, the resin turret barrel broke, and while i scratched a new one, its been glued in too long, and i cant get at the mantlet end to shorten that part. virginia & monitor- monitor's done, virginia's awaiting details. im planning on working a lot today (this is of course a proposal, and the reality of this actually happening depends on how long i keep my fingers crossed)

Thanks a lot for the link reb. I think I might be going for the T-90 because I already have the tamiya T-72 kit.

Cripes, it looks like I have my work cut out for me with that conversion. The frontal resin armour really does look like it needs to be replaced with a scratchbuilt one.

the one I could afford! oh wait.....

I'd go with the t 34. Mainly cuz I I like WWII armor. I am actually thinking about doing the same thing as you for another GB, only blow the whole thing apart with a Tiger early moving by. Better start saving my money.
BTW, Great looking bird so far.

OK, question for you guys. As you know I like to take up some HUGE projects to keep me busy after some esay kits. (Last one was the MiG-29). Now there are 2 options for my next one.

1. DML T-34/76 model 1941 with verlinden resin interior set/ verlinden resin engine compartment/Eduard (or other company) PE exterior detail set.

2. Tamiya T-72 converted to a T-90 using Terre Models conversion, Modelkasten indy tracks, Eduard PE and scratch interior.

Which would you go for?
