Excellent! It's great to see some other progress being made.I also got some done on the halftrack I'm building. Here it is:

Now for a few details, and it'll be ready for decals.

I believe they did have Spitfires, I can remember seeing one in Israeli markings. They also had Messerschmitt Me109's as well that they got from Czechoslovakia.

If you haven't already painted it, try any dark sand color, or even a light grey-green. I'm sorry I cannot be more specific, since I don't normally use Tamiya paints.

Thank you all and Merry Christmas to everyone!

I just finished adding the armaments and fuel tanks.  The canopy on the pland is nog up to standards right now.  Too much super glue was squeezed and it fogged up the canopy. Now I am trying to fix it. Not sure how though.  I posted my question in the Techniques forum.  Hopefully I will be able to fix it.  Also the pics can be seen in the Techniques form under Damaged Canopy.  Sigh [sigh]

Well, I think it's time to bump this up. I have found an extra Airfix Universal carrier and 6pdr gun kit so I was finally able to get the gun mounted in the bed of my halftrack. I added a few extra details as well so she is almost ready for paint. I'll get pics posted here in a bit. Then I will also start on the M-7 Priest for my Israelis too.

Come on people! Let's get those vehicles and aircraft built! Wink [;)]Big Smile [:D]

Well, it has been awhile since anyone has posted here. Fortunately, I have finished one of the projects I was doing for this Group Build. This is my Israeli captured BRDM I.:

Now I shall start work on the Israeli M-7 Priest that I have. Hopoefully soon I'll be able to find the parts to that 6-pdr Gun so I can finish the halftrack.

Comments are welcome.

Lol! I always have several models to finish! Blush [:I]Big Smile [:D]

Here's another attempt to post some pics. These are progress pics on my captured Israeli BRDM 1. (If they show up!)

Here I glued everything together, filled and sanded  the gaps in preparation for the detail parts:

(Wow! It worked! At least when I previewed it....)

Here is a pic of it with the basecoat on it. I painted it in the sand color associated with Egyptian vehicles:

Details are added and painted:

Here it is with a slight wash and the decals applied. You can see I still have the glosscoat on it:

I still need to do a more comprehensive wash. Then I'll dullcoat it and drybrush it and she'll be done. After that, I may start my Tiran 6 for this Group Build as well. I will also be on the lookout for those missing parts for the 6pdr gun so I can finish the halftrack too.

I'll post pics when I get more done. Comments are welcome.

ygmodeler, Heh I am in the same boat. I have a total of three models that need to be finished.

Duke, sorry to here that.  I was not aware that there were problems posting pics.  I'll have to give it a try.

Actually yes, but not on the model you expect. I lost half the parts to the gun I want to mount on the halfdtrack, so I've put that one aside for noe. I did get some progress done on the captured Israeli BRDM 1 that I was also working on for this build, but since all attempts to post pics have failed, I shall have to wait till they fix these Forums before I can post them. I have no clue anymore how to post pics where they can be seen. I miss the old way of being able to post them and wish they'd return to that.

When I get it figured out, or they fix the posting, I'll have those pics ready for you.

Thanks for the comment guys! I'm glad someone is still watching this Thread. I'll have more progress pics up a bit later when I figure out how to build the passenger area to fit the .50 caliber machine gun, and when I get more progress done on the BRDM.

Well, it has been a long time and I apologize for taking so long to contribute here. I have finally decided to do something to earn the badge I've been sporting for so long.

I started Airfix's M-3 White half track. I am going to kitbash this into a 6pd gun carrier. So far, I've built the chassis and wheels which were quite easy since the halftrack suspension and tracks were molded as one piece:

You can see that the age of the molds has left the quality of the parts in question. Still it is a fast and easy kit to build and I'm enjoying this one.

Next came the body. I built that up to a point.

Now I have to make adjustments to the front cab by extending the front armored plate on the passenger side. The Israelis moved the .50 caliber machine gun to the main cabin from the gun ring that the US had above the main cabin. That allowed them to be able to fit the British 6pd gun to the back of the halftrack.

They also did the same with a US 105mm I heard, and that may be another kitbash I may do later if I can find a 1/72 scale 105mm cannon to cannibalize.

I also started a BRDM 1 that I'm going to do in Israeli markings to show a vehicle captured from Egypt. I'd only installed two pieces on it, so that is why I don't have pics of that one.

I'll post more pics when I get more progress done. I hope enough people are watching this thread to be able to see what I've gotten done.

Thanks for looking, comments are welcome.

Congrats on getting done. I apologize for not participating more. I've been working so much overtime at work, I barely have time to even enter my hobby room, much less build a model! I did start a little on the Labor Day weekend, but not enough to post pics of. Maybe when things slow down a bit, I'll be more able to get more done.

Meanwhile, I'll keep popping in to see what everyone else is building. I'm seeing some awesome work!

Thanks for the comments. The replacement decals will be coming in next week. I ended up ordering another Mirage lllCJ kit. I have some other Israeli markings for the replacement kit. So you'll most likely see that kit in the near future. Time for me to go to bed. Gots to get up early for work.
