PanzerWuff, Things are looking good. I look forward to seeing more.

I am excited. My eduard PE set came in the mail today, so I can start on my 1/48 frank probably this weekend.

Thanks Leon - the George is 15 1/2 inches long with a 19 1/2 inch wingspan. I haven't heard a name for aircraft length other than length.

Wow. The builds are looking great! I can't wait to get started on mine...gotta finish a couple present ones right now.

Richard. The George looks good. Just because I am again blown away by thought on the size...how big is it? What is the approximate wingspan and front to back (is there a fancy name for that length?) length?

Jerry. The cockpit looks AWESOME! I just stared at it for a minute or two amazed at how well you did and trying to figure out how you made it look so good. What paint did you use for the aotake?

Waikong. The Nate looks good. I really like those markings and think it makes for a very interesting looking plane.

Thanks Chris.....I don't know...the cockpit is my favorite part of any build and I always seem to spend alot of time on them. Maybe too much, I'm having trouble reading the score on the ballgame now. This Gekko kit detail rivals most resin parts. I was gonna do a Zero for this GB, but once I saw the detail on the Irving, It was a no brainer to switch.
I hope the rest of the build goes as well. Big Smile [:D]

And no....I'm a guitar player Wink [;)]

Beautifull Nate Waikong, I've never seen those markings before. Paint and weathering looks spot on. Great job and thanks for the compliments on my Irving pit.

Well, here's my finsihed "Nate" in Manchuokuo markings for this GB. A full writeup is at my website http://waihobbies.wkhc.net/Nateki27.html. Criticism is most welcomed.

I finally have the interior painted and assembled. For those of you who don't know, this is the Tamiya J1N1-S Gekko. The aotake coating did not photograph well. It has much more of a mettallic look than it appears. It's almost like a blu-grn candy coat. There's a ton of ootb detail, and no PE or resin was neccesary. It took some time, but it was enjoyable to hi-lite all the excellent details in this kit. So far, this has been a typical Tamiya build with no problems. On to the air frame.

There's a new SuperDetailed GB starting in Dec that I joined, maybbe you'll be interested in that. I do agree, GB gives me great incentive to finish a kit & share the experience.

Thanks Waikong. I have had so much enjoyment with this group build and the Pearl Harbor group build that now that I have finished the three planes I have to find something else to build. The next GB I am in starts in November.

Thanks Jay,

I must say the George was a much more difficuilt build than the Zeke but it was enjoyable doing both. I must admit the George is much more colorful as the IJN Zeke is a basic one color aircraft.

Nice one Richard! I actually like it better than your zero for the Pearl Harbour GB (though both are excellent builds). Cool [8D]Thumbs Up [tup]

Thanks CJ I was fortunate with the decals as I happened to have some white decal paper. The leading edge is paint.

RIchard,

Nice one sir. Looks like a crisp clean build, and I'm glad you sorted out your decal issues.

Quick question....the Yellow on the leading edge....decal or paint?Question [?]
