Dave: Nice work. It was worth the wait. I don't think Joe will take any points off for being late!!

Marc, Richard, Rick Thanks guys, sorry for the delay but it was worth it. I shudder to think how those 20 yr old Hasegawa decals would have reacted. Dead [xx(]

Okay, no more excuses so here they are. I kept this build fairly clean, just a bit of a wash on the control surfaces and a bit of pastel shading which hardly shows up at all on the photos. The decals are Super Scale.

Great idea on the new group build...

I just spent the last hour looking over all 20 pages of this group build...WOW we really have some beautiful birds. I think everyone has done a great job, including Joe for running the whole show. Great job JOE, and thanks.

A Meteor would be perfect, but how about in an IAF scheme, I believe that was thier "First Jet" fighter used. The prototype 262 is one of the ugliest birds I have seen, how they got it to the final beauty is a real testament to German Engineering!

Joe. Sounds like a great idea for a GB. I personally don't build many stovepipes, but we'll see what's going on next year.

Regards, Rick

I know there is a kit of the Me262 prototype, multi media kit as well, has both the jets and propeller...so you would not technically be doing a jet...Smile [:)]

Thanks Dave. The Special Attack aircraft are certainly more unusual than the average Japanese aircraft from this time period.

Okay...you all asked for it and now you got it!

Same time frame in 2006...July 1 to October 1(or there aboutsSmile,Wink, & Grin [swg])

First Jets Out of the Box Group Build.

Shooting Stars, Me262 as well as the first jet to serve with any air force/service. So beside the common ones already mentioned you could do the first jet to serve with the RAF or the Soviet Air Force or even the Brazillian Air Force so on and so forth. Also, the first Marine Corps jet or the first RNAS jet as well. This should broaden the subject matter considerably.

Same rules to apply, IPMS guidelines. If it is PE and Resin it should be from the box the kit was originally purchased in.

Group Badge will be some time in coming...

Rick: Nice work! And the background information about markings was news to me... I always learn something new in these forums (fora??). That's a good reason to look into doing otherwise-drab IJN planes now!

And bring on the next GB, Joe! You did a great job moderating this one.
