WWII armor GB!!!!!!!

kinda stopped on my 251 for awhile to get started on the imense amount of work id need to do on the dio its goin in....but added rails, and added half the seats.

I have applied decals to my M-26. I still have detail painting, finally assembly, and weathering to go. I should have some pictures of it tomorrow.

Here is a picture of my M-26. I plan on adding a heavy snow on it. The straps are a dark off white string I found lying around in the junk room. When the model is completely done I will borrow a camera from Yearbook for the night and try it out.

Thanks! I have been thinking about it, but I currently have no money and putting one together would cost a bit. I could get the wood easily and for free, but I would have to buy trees to make it pretty and to make use of its fully workable suspension. It would also be my first diorama.

The way I see it, is I can use it in a diorama in the future in which I can put a German tank and some more soldiers. Does anyone know of any German tanks that were in Czechloslovakia in 1945? I was thinking about using my Tamiya King Tiger which is meant for the Ardennes, but it truely doesn't build into one. The camo would probably be the same, but the markings would be off.

By the end of the war they had whatever they could get. Lots of assault guns were built during late 1944 and early 45 because no turret ment they were cheaper. (assualt guns, like stugs, jagdtigers, jagdpanzers etc. )
There would most likely be a few KTs and Tigers left, some panzer IV ausf J's. Just a jumble of stuff.
A quick search on google should give you some sites that will list units in that area at the time.

Camo could have been a number of things. Mainly depending on the unit and production time. Some would have regular camo, some ambush schemes, some with dark yellow turrets and camo hulls because they had to get a replacement turret, and just plain dark yellow. Often at the end of the war the large vehicles were painted in dark yellow because of paint shortages.

Nothing would be more fitting than a Hetzer. I think I will purchase the Dragon Hetzer kit in the future.

I have given the M-26 a wash and have done some detail painting. I still have the exhaust, wheels, and figures to paint. After I have it fully assembled, except for the figures, I will use pastels to simulate mud on the wheels and fenders and then give it a clear coat. Then I will glue on the figures and be done.

progress: the stowage bin things behind the seats are finnished, just cushions, stowage, weathering and some putty and itll all be DUN!! well at least the interior.

I am waiting for Tamiya to replace my tracks which were destroyed while trying to strip the paint.

I am in the procces of applying snow right now, but I can't find any effective way to do it. I'm thinking of airbrushing the cement to get a thin layer that doesn't cause the snow to clump up into ugly balls.

try using Hairspray and Microballoons, Verlinden makes a wonderful snow... here is my model, I'm sure many of you have seen it, I finished it in August, and I didn't realize I was in on this build until I saw my name LOL

when i built my bulge dio i used putty and hit the top with a tooth brush and then painted it, black, then brown , then blue in some areas and the white, it turned out pretty cool:

Nice looking Sherman! I'm using Woodland Scenics snow with their cement. I don't want to use hairspray.

Nice job DD! It looks really realistic.

I'm currently painting the road wheels on my first tank. I found a simple method.
Paint the wheels their colors. Carefully paint the tires. Dry brush any areas that were painted the wrong color, such as the where the tires meet the wheels.

I forget if you said it or not, but whens this build over?

I don't think this build has a end date. The creator has been swamped lately and looks like everyone else is aswell.

I covered my tank with snow and foilage. I attached the wheels and the tracks. I also attached additional details such as the side armor. I still have to apply snow to these parts. I used the freely moving tracks and suspension to show it running over a log. No pictures yet! I still have figures to paint.

what did you use for foilage? i used leaves from a bush in my yard, but im curious if theres other techniques...
i havent had time to do snything on my 251, ive been swamped with a 10 page paper, and this week is a testing week where we have a test everyday from certain subjects..

I used materials from Woodland scenics such as branches and dark green foilage.

no real progress here....a couple figs finnished for dio, but cant get motivated to work on the 251

I am nearly finished with my Pershing.  All I have to do is touch up the snow covered exhaust(which I forgot to mask) and paint the figures.  Some of the snow will remain and will be covered with a burnt, oily mess.  I probably will leave it without figures for awhile, mainly because I can never paint their faces.  I can paint the uniforms fine, just not the faces.
