If you really do not want me to do the Dio, I will do it in 2 parts. (1) just the plane, (2) then the stand for the Dio. How is that?????

OK! You know that will brake one of your rules for having the Ohio Connection though. Even though the Dio would be Kitty Hawk it still has said connection with the pilot and where the aircraft was first built. Are you going against your own rules.Just asking not to make trouble or ruffle any feathers.

Rad. No he has not made up his mind on what aircraft he wants to do. He was thinking about the B-1 "Boss Hawg", but it would take 6 to 10 weeks for it to show up from Japan. He is a little sore at this time, he took his 1:1 race car out last night and he had a pretty hard hit into the wall, with help from another driver, the car is messed up some and he is alright but sore. He should have is mind made up in a week or so. And thanks for the comments on the Wright Flyer I have made some more progress on it. Would you allow me to go for the Dio set for this build. Thanks.

Pink, your project is coming nicely. Good work so far.
I got going on my A-7D last night and to this point I've got the fuselage closed up and the wings assembled.

Rad I noticed it right after R-CMan took the pix for me. I have fixed that problem and still moving forward with this build. I will try to post more pix on Monday or so. Thanks for the comments. Also I like this build so much I have asked R-CMan to help me with a scratch built larger scale of this kit. I will most likely do this one in a Dio. Unknown at this time though.

Pink, everything looks pretty good. you may want to check the allignment of the wings... other than that it doesnt look bad. I haven't started yet as i had an 8 hour day at the mulch mine (the place i work is a lawn and garden place). I think tonight or tomorrow i'll paint the insides green! woohoo!

Actually it was Orville-but he didn't die-his Army passenger did-didn't take aeroplanes long to be dangerous. All kinds of fun stuff in Ohio aviation history. Too bad Douglas "Wrong Way" Corrigan wasn't from Ohio-that would be a fun subject.

Hey Pink-just trying to say you're far along (for the first day) and fishing line is a great idea as it won't collect dust like thread. And you didn't answer the $00000.25 question. ;-)

HEY TROWLFAZZ
As I have stated by the photos I am not finished with it. Yes I will rig it, If you mean use the string, But I will not use the stuff in the kit. I have some 4lb test fishing line that I am going to bread together to make it look more real.

Hey Pink! You're almost done. Are you gonna rig it? I'll admire you if you do. BTW-I think you could fly a shoebox at Kitty Hawk and I sometimes wonder if it flew as they immediately made lots of revisions after that first 'flight'. But I'm just an old phart and if nothing else they got the ball rolling!

PS-guess who was the pilot on the first fatal aircraft accident?

Rad-I did get a Fujimi F-86F-with Eduard PE for the intake and exhaust covers. I will start as soon as I finish my 120mm Verlinden Black Prince (no-not the musician). BTW-today's my B-day 51!

I'll be in Canada for the next two weeks on vacation. I don't want to rush this, so I still don't have a subject yet, but getting closer. I'ts all about the decals. Thanks Viper for the heads up on the sheets. The BMF decals are listed as discontinued. The Springfield OANG A7's were pretty boring to look at. I will have make a choice soon.

Good luck on your builds guys. Will talk to you in two weeks.

Glad to be a part of your group. My F-84F will be a NMF with the Ohio ANG markings. I'll be using the Monogram 1/48th scale kit, mostly OOB, unless I can find some PE to go with it. Looking forward to this build. Dragonfly, check out Squadron Mail Order, they have Super Scale Decal sheet # 48-944 which has Ohio ANG A-7D, might be the one you are searching for. Also Bare Metal Foil has sheet # 48-52 for the F-84E with markings for the Ohio ANG.

Would a F-84F from the Ohio ANG qualify for this GB? I've been wanting to do another F-84F for a while and I found decals from the 1997 IPMS Nats decal sheet that include 1/48th and 1/72nd markings for the F-84F. I've only found one pic in the Aerofax Minigraph book and the instructions that came with the decals to go by. I don't live in Ohio, but I've been to the Air Force Museum a couple of times.I've never joined in a GB, but sounds kind of interesting. Think I could join up? Don M.

Boy, RadMax-your GB got torn down in another forum-but I think it is a great idea. I know you got 'flamed' because it was for Ohioans and Ohio aviation-but there are no limits on group builds-Hey Michigan-howza bout maize and blue aircraft? Hey Indiana-howza bout a plane throwing a chair onto a basketball court? Anyway, I am hanging in there but my F-86 has yet to show up-so stick to your guns-I will too.

PS-I'm not a Ohioan-but this GB made me delve into the aviation history here-which is very deep-and I actually learned things. I just wish there was a Bob Hope and aviation connection.

Jin, Pink, anyone is welcome. I was hoping someone would do the Wright Flyer!!!! Jin, as long as you can mark the F-16 with ohio markings or can find an Ohio pilot, you are IN!

hmm, put me down as a stand-by. I'm from hudson ohio, and I have an F-16, but I'm crammed with no space to reathe from all the GB's and I'm not gonna have much time to model this year cos of my school work and all of the other stuff.
dang it!
