smaller the number the thicker the wire, most lamp cords are 18 Gauge, so 30 is quite small. Thanks for the info.

What guage wire is that? I've been getting by with old wire from broken electronics.

Sorry it took me a little wire. I had to find where I put the packaging. It says it is 30 gauge insulated wrapping wire? Does a bigger number mean smaller wire or the other way around?

I finally have a tiny bit more progress to show. I am wiring the engine of my tamiya p-47. I found this great small wire at radio shack and carefully cut off most of the insulation leaving a little bit for the plugs(?). I was so glad I found the wire because I went through about three other methods that didn't work. Anyway, now I just need to paint and weather it all up.

Hope all is well with everyone. Leon

Late entires always welcome. This could almost become a sort of perpetualy GB since there is no end date- anyone could jump right back in when they ahve their next super detail project ready.

Taking late entries? I'm doing a couple builds for the KV GB that are going to be superdetailed:

1) Tamiya KV-1C - adding PE details, Friul tracks, etc

2) Sturm PzKpf.Wg. KV II 754r (a Tamiya KV-2 with MIG Productions resin upgrades, PE, etc).

Those two oughta keep me busy for a little while.

Waikong, that's intense.  Looks great, though.  Can't wait to see the progress on it.

On my end, the office is killing me.  Not much time for work on the Sea Fury, but I have finally begun to paint the identification stripes.

Well, that PE is as hard as it looks. Took a good 2 weeks, 1/2 hr a day or so, lost of patience and swearing to get it together!

Man that is looking really great!!!  I couldn't imagine trying to assemble PE like that, I have a hard enough time with a simple HUD frame!!!

Keep us posted!!!

So, I went back and reshot the Dark Sea Gray.  Looks much better!  However, I still have some reshooting of the Sky color at areas were the masking tape pulled up the paint.

After that, identification stripes!

Never fear Tankmaster, I am still far behind you, I have a Mig-21, 2xF/A-18 E/F, Su-27, Ka-50 Hokum sitting on my bench that I would like to finish before I get started on my mustang, so you are in good company!!!! Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Update - Looks like it will be at least the beginning of March before I can get started on my P-51D!!!  And I have been entertaining going back and also building the 1/32 Bf-109G-14 with all the goodies that I have for it to go with this Group Build!!!

Dark Sea Gray has been shot.  I thinned it a little too much and some bleed happened under the masking, plus a few base color areas pulled up when I removed the masking.  Censored [censored]  Additionally, I mixed my own Dark Sea Gray since the Gunship Gray the kit called for just seemed too, well, gray.  Yep, should have left well enough alone because my Dark Sea Gray is too blue.  Censored [censored]

So, I need to go back and touch up some Sky areas before moving on.  I may reshoot the Dark Sea Gray but I'll probably chalk it up to a learning experience.  After that are the identification stripes.

Ok, finished the Intercooler ducting (I think that is what it is called) for my p-47. (See last post for more description). Here are the pictures.

Now maybe I'll do something normal that you'll actually see in the finished plane - like the cockpit. Leon

I'm excited to see it arki. It sounds good!

Yesterday, I finally made a little start to my p-47. I started in kind of a weird spot...(I wish I knew proper names for things) the opening on the side of the fuselage that opens into nothing. I know that there was a resin set that had a nice piece you could put in there to close it off, but it is out of production and I imagine fairly expensive, so I found some pictures of the piece on the internet and tried my first scratch building - more or less a copy of the resin piece. It took forever, but was actually a lot of fun. Of course once I held it inside to see how it looked, you can barely even see it Smile [:)]. I'll try to take some pictures tonight and finish the 2nd side's "insert."

I've painted the Sea Fury with the base coat of British Sky.  Masked off and painted the exhaust shields with Alclad Duraluminum.  Looks pretty good if I don't say myself.  Vacuform canopy has been split and detached from the mold (that was hairy).

Next step is to mask off the canopy and aircraft for the Dark Sea Gray application.

I haven't even started on my P-51 yet, I am going to wait until I am finished with the classes that I am taking right now, not much time between two research papers and work, etc.  Don't you just love it when real life brings your hobby time to an abrupt halt?!!!

Any way, have been following the posts here, and have to say that I am seeing some pretty awsome modeling being done, keep up the great work everybody!!!

Thanks for all the comments.  At the moment, I'm trying to decide whether or not to attach the roof, or leave it off so that you can see the interior.  If I do decide to put the roof on though, there are 2 hatches which can be opened on the roof, and another fairly large one at the back which should still provide a fairly good view of the interior.

WOW westcon. I have to tell you, I don't know the first thing about armor, but that looks really good. I imagine with painting and weathering there are tons of opportunities in that open space. I only ask this out of ignorance, how much will you see when it is all together? Does the top stay as something you can remove?
Looks good.

Finally, I have a bit of progress to show on my JagdPanther.  I've gotten a good portion of the interior assembled which you can see in the pic.  I've also got the majority of the gun assembly put together as well, which you cant see in the pic here.  All comments / criticism welcome.
