ok FINALLY!!!  I guess I talk too much and too fast because it seemed like forever before it would let me do a second post.  Here is my 99.56% finished P-47 that I gave to that class.  It was OOB except for an Ultracast seat, Ultracast wheels and the Mexican Nat'l insignia that came from Aztek Decals from Mexico City.  (-edit- and Floquil "Old Silver" as the NMF, good stuff!) I just got a more complete set of decals for the same group which has decals for such things as graffiti on the bombs written in spanish (translation of one, "Mr. Japanese man, I hope you like this "taco" (a 500lb bomb), I made it for you myself" etc..)) so if there is another of these next year I am in again but with nose art and grafitti etc...!

Anyway - enough jabbering... here is one pic of the finished model closer up than the last pic (not sure if I even posted that)  It is missing the antenna wire etc but I was working till the late hours to get this to the class as it was the last day of school, and I figured anything like that would be the first thing to break..  The base is temporary, just to protect it a bit in the car from falling off the seat.. the port wing long machine gun is off kilter from the kids passing the board around, as is the pitot tube.. but after 14 8th graders passing this around it survived amazingly!!  (like the real thing)

oh yeah, I forgot the lens covers on the navigation lights...  I'll fix that in a few weeks when they come back to class and I can get it back to finish the details...

here is the model as I gave it to them, (children as well as teachers face cut out:)

---Tom--- O' brave new world, That has such people in it!

Looks Great Tom. Thanks for the heads-up on the floquil old silver. I tried it for a primer / base coat on a ki-84 frank I am doing. It goes on really nice and easy!
