no idea reb. it was a piece of eye candy though, ill say that. he had the engine exposed, lots of detail inside, and outside, really nice overall. it was a very clean looking model to me though. all his builds were like that. not to say they were bad, far from it. he does a great job adding differences in the paint, fading it and such. in fact the biggest concern i could find with the bergepanther was that the wires looked liek they had been dusted with that crap some girls wear at dances, glitter or something? NEway, it was a good run. i even got to talk to the guy.

tanky- i have a two word expression that would fit this situation well, but itd be inappropriate, so ill jsut let you ponder over what it would have beenWink [;)]

times are rough my firend. i myself have had to take that path on more than one night. as for competition, like i said even the guy that beat me thought he would lose to me. his bergepanther was a very nice piece i must say though. hes a really good builder, ive seen him at several other shows. NEway, thats how it went. hopefully i can make it to syrcon and cleveland though sometime in october and november. or maybe ill be heading to canadia, i dont know.

tanky wut is this, a facist and a commie, working together?!?!??!!!? didn't the spanish civil war teach you guys NEthing?

Ahh using my GRU intel (I know him personally if you haven't gathered yet) I deduce that he is extremely busy at his new high school and doesnt have any time for modeling right now.

Congrats gringe. I dont know how your pz didnt place though! There must have been some real good comp. Seeing it makes me want to build one. Only prob is its an old italeri kitDead [xx(] too much work for me, but it will come it timeCool [8D]

Nick, the LEM is where almost every old FSM forum member went. It was certain thing about this place they didnt like, so they made their own forum. Its like an FSM, except with better organization. (its not as big, thats why)
I believe photos are required to become a member though.

went to Rocon today. small show, not much comp. i was too old to be in juniors! 16 and older are out of the standing. i went into adults. my pz. 38 didnt palce, although even the guy that won best thought he would loose to me. weird..... i did getsecond in adults for the monitor and virginia. the turret bunker hasnt been finished so that did nt go. not that many vendors either. all i picked up were some more MMP powders, and a couple cheap sets of figs and equipment. total: $12 overall though i enjoyed it, cuz i got to talk to a lot of guys from my club whom i hadnt seen in a while, including blackwolf (steve). lots-o-fun talking with him.....Big Smile [:D]

man I go on a drive to the NSLHS to get 3 bottles of paint minimum, I was in dire (sp?) need of dark yellow, and yep, they were sold out of it, no dark yellow!Angry [:(!]Banged Head [banghead]
Why why why!!!! So now I am screwed for until they either get a restock, or until I decide I want to pay 6$ of shipping to ship a tiny bottle of paint.

actually i was referring to the mod's cleanup of your post, but whatever...

tanky, you may need to look at getting/borrowing a metal cutting saw. you gotta be careful with it though, cuz it tends to rough up the surrounding surface

Excellent. I wonder why Mr. Ellis didn't just say that himself instead of utilizing the username of a different forum member to post his message. Fascinating. We seem to be getting an undue amount of attention since our slight breach of forum conduct on the past thread.

Riught now I'm working on getting my model point gun barrel to fit into the resin turret. Gonna need a lot more work, then glue it in and fill gaps to snug it into the mantlet. I need to shorten the gun barrel by a bout 1.5 cm. Any suggestions?

just to point this out:
In light of recent events, I’d like to drop a reminder about using acceptable language when using the forums. Basically, this means no profanity whether overt or implied, even words that are common in everyday conversation these days. Doing things like using a "$" in place of an "S" in a particular word also does not elevate the profane to the world of the acceptable.

Posts that contain profanity will be deleted or edited to purge the offending bits. Users who repeatedly violate the standards will be barred from the site. This may seem excessively strict, but we want to protect this forum's polite, friendly, constructive tone.

The real issue is the tone that swearing imparts to the discourse. When it becomes an unconscious part of one's vocabulary, it basically makes one look, well, illiterate, as if you are merely using the words as placeholders for words that would actually say something comprehensible to your listeners/readers.

Once swearing becomes a habitual part of somebody's vocabulary, it too becomes meaningless. When you keep that language in reserve for extraordinary situations, as when something really bad happens, then you get some psychological release from using them.

Anyway, the point is that people make their assessments of our intelligence by how we talk. And the language we use in print--including electronic print--makes an even more lasting impression on others. I don't know about everybody else, but if people think I'm more intelligent than I really am, I'm not going to do anything that'll change their minds!

So lets keep things civil and keep the discourse clean.
