Hey Trucker,

From bitter personal experience, you need to do a lot to distract the eye from the many deficiencies of the kit, don't you! I think you did a good job.

 Cheers,

 Bruce

p.s. I bought a Trumpeter Sturer Emil at SMW (IPMS UK Nats) on Sunday for £7.

An old Matchbox, could be improved but I choose to assemble straighfrom the box. Just some accessories added.

Thanks Duke ! I also have to say that your Emil looks great, most of all the paint job. Even is necessary, I hate to paint all small parts with the brush. Another model could be a StuG 4 in 76th, by Matchbox. I have to tell you that was built straight OOB with some extra accessories.

Sorry, was a test to see if is OK. Now I know what to do. Many thanks for the instructions.

And now all the other pics. Is about a SdKfz 7 with Bilstein crane, a not common model and a little bit exagerate as features. Is allin resin. And now the pics.

Trucker, it is actually very easy but you first have to go to a web hosting site such as photobucket.com and open an account (it's free).  Once you get your photo's uploaded to photobucket (or similar site but that is the one I use) follow the directions in the forum faq on posting pics.

Or... if you use photobucket there are three boxes under each picture  (Url, Tag and Img)  Img is the box that you want, just copy and paste the text in that box into your message here on the forum and you're done.  You can also click on the image symbol up above beside the smiley face in the header here and paste the Url into that.  whichever you find easier.

Look forward to seeing your pics!

The StuG III started out OOB, and is essentially OOB except that the antennae were damaged in a plane trip, so I made some bogus new ones. I posted this also in the Airfix GB (I forgot where I was talking about it). If you want, I can delete this post.

Anyway, here's the build-up.

and, painted, decalled and on a Matchbox Comet base:

The StuG III is finished bar the matt varnish.

I'm pretty happy with it.

Pics to follow.

Man Dave, I'm sorry to hear that. At least you are getting some renovations done, that is good. Hopefully things will go fast so you can get back to building.

I've completed the assembly on my Emil. Now all I have to do is the decals and then weather it. I'll post pics when I'm done.

Wish I could say that I was building somethig right now Duke but my work bench got torn up a couple of months ago while our house is undergoing some renovations.  I was able to work at a temporary table in the garage for awhile but I am currently benchless and having to work at the kitchen table.  Needless to say not much is happening.  Hopefully things will get back to normal in a couple of weeks.

Hey is anyone still watching this?

I got a some pics of my 1/72 scale Trumpeter Sturer Emil here to show off. Here is a shot of the gun carriage assembly mounted in the main hull:

There's still a bit of touch up I need to do in there, but it's coming along again.

These next two shots are of my interior, first one side then the other:

And here are a couple of pics of this model showing each side with the fighting compartment walls test-fit in place:

I hope you like it. Comments are welcome.

You are right. Nothing was really safe in front of that. One had sixteen kills before it was finally subdued. The other of the two was captured at an evaluation camp where it was being used to train another crew.

Got some paint on it, I just have to get the interior detailed and installed now.

I don't think that anything much would be safe in front of that thing when it was angy. All of them were destroyed or captured though, weren't they?

Now that I've got a bit more done on this, I want to post these quick pics of some of my proigress on this Emil. There ain't much done, but at least you'll be able to see what this baby will be looking like!

Here is the main parts/assemblies of the 1/72 scale Trumpeter Sturer Emil all test-fit together so you can see what it's gonna look like:

I have to paint all the interior parts that go on the inner walls of the fighting compartment and then paint the exterior before I can glue this all together. Once that is done, it is on to finishing!

I hope you guys like it. Comments are welcome!

Nothing's happening this weekend. I'm in Perth until tomorrow night, then flying back to Auckland. I'll havea  busy few days, then flying to Vancouver for a week, then onto London for 2.5 weeks. I might drop in on some friends in Lansing on the way, though.

I swear I wasn't looking for an LMS here in Perth, but in fact last night, when I went out for a bite to eat, I came across this shop:

which I went into today to check out their stock levels. I have to say, it's well-stocked. However, I left it just as well-stocked as I walked in, due to the fact that I'm going to Scale Model World in a few week's time!

Brews,

Nice work.  I enjoyed my Stug IV kit.  I wouldn't even bother gluing the upper hull to the lower hull or the roof to the upper hull until you are starting to weather.  Things on these go together that well.

P.S.  I look forward to seeing your Ostwind.

Progress:
