I made a concerted start on a Dragon StuG IV (Late) last night. I'm still waiting on some PE for the Ostwind to arrive, you see.

This should be a quick build.

So far Grant, yes they are. I've built about five Trumpeter kits so far, three of which are joint ventures with Pitroad: The three modern Japanese tanks and the Swedish S-tank. All of them had great detail and went together fairly well. I only had issues with the turret of the Type 61 being molded so thin it was almost Vacu-formed, and the tracks for the Type 61 and Type 74 were all too long or too short. The Swedish tank had no problems except for several really small pieces that broke when I tried to remove them from the sprue, or got lost very easily. I still have the Trumpeter AS-90 to build too.

Duke,

Looks really good.

To all:

Are all small scale Trumpeter kits this detailed?  Wow.

Duke,

Keep us all up to date on the Hummel.  I have a Hummel (late version) from Dragon that is due after my current Jpz IV project.

That's cool Will. I have gotten my Sturer Emil started and will probably crack open my Hummel now too to get started on it. Pics up later.

Nice work! It's great to saee that you fixed it instead of chucking it out.

I got a bit started on my Trumpeter 1/72 scale Sturer Emil for this awhile back. I finally got pics taken of some of my work to date. Here is where I am so far:

I'll post more when I get further along. Thanks for looking.

Will,

Let's see that Elephant.  I'm sure that we can help out.

Censored [censored]  I wanted to throw in a 4-letter reference for you also.  I feel your pain.

Here's my Ostwind in 90% condition:

It is competing in a collection today in Syracuse.  I'd say that it is the 3rd best in the collection.

Arrrgh!  I had a few coats of Future down on my Ostwind, and I was adding road wheels when I realized that curing time was not as quick on cold and rainy days.  CSI would have a field day on this kit...not really...Future over Future eliminates finger prints.

Has anyone seen an Ostwind with markings?  My 1 photo and the directions say only to add a serial number to the front of the tank near the right fender.  I may just make something up...German kits are great for that if you aren't building a Tiger.

Welcome back Maddog!

I still have work to do...but it is under strict protest.

I know the feeling. I am finally done with all the overtime at my work so I'll be starting up again. I have a Trumpeter Sturer Emil calling my name right now...

Pics to come soon!

Hi all.  I've been working way to hard lately...on work unfortunately.  I finished the Tiger I "Hybrid" recently and placed it in a show with my Panzer IV F2 (both Hasegawa).  They both lost in OOB, but my Dragon T34 took first in the same division...no problem.

I'm currently finishing up a Hasegawa Ostwind for a show this weekend with designs on finishing a Dragon Jagdpanzer IV Early too.

I hope things are well with you all.

I'll be submitting an early style Jagdpanther using the Revell kit.  Colors will most likely be from Northern France late 1944.  The only hang up is the choice of proper figure placement.

Regards,

JW

I will if you really want me to, but all you can see is that there are no antena, there is a bracket on one side of the turret and not the other, and that the barrel is loose.

Maybe you can take a photo of it now so we can assess the damage with you.

Sad [:(] Ok, I don't think I can repair the barrels position and bracket to make it an Elephant again, so i'm pulling out. I think i'm going to make it as if it was a SP arty (unless you'll let me in with a What if style thing)

Sorry

I just had a lttle accident!!!!!!!!!
I was about to take progress pics of the Elephant, so I pick up the camera, which on the way catches on the tracks of the Elephant. The damage: One PE bracket gone, two antenna knocked off, and the barrel is now loose as it is no longer conected to the inside of the Elephant.

I ordered some Aber and Part stuff for the Ostwind. It's strange, I think, that I could find 20mm barrels for the Wirbelwind, but not a 37mm for the Ostwind!

You've made the Hasegawa kit into something really nice.
