Rick, I figure as long as you wife thinks you are, then you don't need anyone else!

Scott-looking forward to seeing your Spitfire.  I need to do a Tamiya Spit BoB sometime soon.  Last one I did was the Monogram version.

That Tamiya Spitfire Mk. 1 is a nice kit.  The only issue is there are some seam issues in the front and back of the wing to fuselage, more so at the front.  There are two fairly wide gaps in the curve from where the wing meets in the front.  Other than that it was a typical 1/48 Tamiya kit as far as engineering and ease of assembly.  Smile [:)]

Sean, Bear & Karl-thanks.

Karl-I know that feeling-not wanting to start a project.  I'm  getting to the 'do a piece of armour' phase.

Rick-looking forward to seeing the 109 with decals.

Hey guys, I'm wrapping up 2 other builds, and finishing up the final renovations on our house this week.  I'll be doing the camo and weathering on the Spitfire next week and will post progress pics as we go along.  At the end of the week I'll finally have some breathing room from all my GBs and won't have to keep rushing to the finish line each time.  Smile [:)]

Bob, the 109 looks great.

The sponge mottle turned out really well.

Rick, looking forward to some pics of that Emil with decals.

Progress Update

Still nothing doing on either the big Dornier or the He 111, just can't seem to face anything with more than one engine at the moment!

Therefore I will be picking up a 1/72 Tamiya E-3 later this week.

Bear-Nice build. Looks good with a clean finish. A weather would give it the edge (nudge nudgeWink [;)])

Rick-Very nice. The white nose does make a differance.

Bob-You gotta delete the link to the pic of your car. It just ain't right seeing a grown man in a yellow bubbleSmile [:)]

The 109 looks excllent.

Well, finishing touches going on the 109 this weekend.

Just finished the basic weathering, now for another gloss coat, then some Tamiya smoke, a flat coat and pastels and the model will be doneShock [:O]

Then I have to make the base  for it to sit on and to hide the batteries.

Hey!

How'd that get in thereConfused [%-)]

Looks great Bob, I think your sponge mottle turned out great. I like to see you try that with your Ford Focus... the sponge mottle that is. That way your Nieghbours won't have to wear their sunglasses all the time.

Done.  Had some minor fit issues-I'll be aware & prepared of them for the next BoB GB.  Glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried the sponge camo.  I think I like Sean's sponge better though.

Darren-thanks for hosting.  Already looking forward to the next BoB GB!

The way I figure it, I can build the same kit (Wick's) as a yellow nose next time

oops....

Thanks Joe.  The mottle was sprayed freehand using my Badger 100LG AB.

Yessir, I'm an MSU Grad/Alum.  Really painful the way my team snatched defeat from the jaws of victory over the Irish.

Nice mottle Rick, how did you do it?

I assume by your avatar text you went to University in East Lansing.  If so this past weekend was tough ...I thought you had them.

Horrid football weekend all around...Penn State lost, Notre Dame wins and the Steelers, well I am still not ready to comment on that debacle!

Nice schem Ric! Thumbs Up [tup]  Nice change from the yellows.  Looking forward to seeing some decals on it.

I have started on my Br 20 but the kit is more complicated than I originally thought.  I had to sand out the sink marks in the side windows and canopy masking is going to be tough.  Getting it done on time will be a challenge.  (Why do I always set myself up for this? Sad [:(])

Rick. the paint work on the Emil looks great.

Looking forward to seeing it with decals.

BTW, whose mount is it?
