Sign - Welcome [#welcome] Aboard RobK-Dalas I gotcha BTW I have built 2 of the dragon SdKfz sieries half tracks and be REAL careful on the body sides alignment if youre not REAL careful about not lining those sides with the floor asembely and bulkheads behind the drivers seat and and rear plate up just right it will leave some Huge gaps and the upper body will not sit down on the lower half

Hey Panzer, would wheels that travel on rails count? Something like the Kriegslocomotive? : )

PanzerWulff,

Add me to the build. I've got a Tamiya 1/35th Dragon Wagon that's near completion and I'm working on the load for the trailer - a disabled Tamiya Wirbelwind with a 2cm. ammo trailer conversion.

Hey guys,

I finished my Opel Maultier but not the FLAK38 that goes in the back. I don't know how but the barrel is broken off and missing. I also found a couple more pieces broken. I know when I bought it the box had a tear in it but it was shink wrapped so I don't know how I lost pieces.

If you haven't made other arrangements yet, I'd be glad to give Tamiya's 1/35th (35102) Single 20mm FlaK with the Ground mount. I bought it for the limber that comes with it. I used this as the basis for a 20mm ammo trailer for a Wirbelwind I'm working on.

I've got all the paperwork and a full decal sheet - I just needed the half dozen or so parts for the trailer.

If your interested PM me and I'll get your shipping address.

PanzerWulff,

Don't sweat it dude. I'm just glad to be here. Kinda' cool that I've got the only "Wagon" in the build - so far anyway.

I'm kinda' surprised that no one is building a Duece and a Half....could we have won WW II without her?? Gotta got the beans, bullets, and bandaids to the front somehow.

DON'T I know it my grandfather was a staff seargeant in the Quartermasters and actually took part in the famed "Red Ball Express". I'm doing alot of research before starting on my Duece and a Half as it will be a gift to my grandmother to add to the display of my grandfathers WWII Memoribilia she has

Hi Folks,

Construction is almost complete on my Daimler Armored Car, just putting some photoetched bits on it, then its off to the paint shop. Actuall, it doesn't physically move anymore, it's a virtual paint shop.

This last in the piece I still can't decide between Western Desert or European Mickey Mouse scheme.

Does anyone have a colour match for the dark green ( was it called  bronze green ?) used on British armor in Europe late in the war ?

I can get Tamiya, Model Master, Humbrol or Gunze Sanyo colours fairly easily.

Cheers and thanks

PanzerWulff,

I salute your Grandad Make a Toast [#toast] Bow [bow]. Part of the Red Ball...that's tooo coool. As both a vet and a former trucker I can really appreciate what he did. That's like running the Ice Roads (across the frozen lakes) in Alaska or maybe a driving a road train thru Australia's outback. Road Trains are massive - far bigger than any rig you'd see here in the States and the roads those guys drive on....talk about unimproved.Blindfold [X-)]. For a trucker that's braggin rights, man!

All that pales compared to what your grandad, my grandad, and every other Allied veteran did - they went out to help save the world.

Hi,

I'm leaning towards the 'Mickey Mouse' scheme at the moment. I need some info to determine whether the camo pattern was soft or hard edged, and I also need a good match for the British Army green used in late war Europe.  I have access to humbrol and Taiya paints. Can anyone help ?

Cheers

Actually I think my DML Sherman Firefly may have the match one of the marking options is a Mickey Mouse paint job if i remember right

<edit> It just has gunze and modelmaster numbers but if i give you those maybe you can cross reference somewhere  Gunze Aqueous hobby collor  H-80, Gunze Mr Color H-54, Model Master 1710 All are listed as "Khaki Green" I hope this helps.Wink [;)]Thumbs Up [tup]

Well... since I have not posted to this group since I joined, I thought I would show you all what wheels I'm building (all 20 of them!) Smile [:)]  This is the Trumpeter 1/35 BR-52 Kriegslocomotive.  I'm building the camo version.

Here is the loco's frame subassembly.  I had to start preliminary weathering at this stage because it all shows but wil be inaccessable later.

here is a mock up of the cab.

Hi,

The Daimler Armored Car that I'm doing for this and the Light Armor GB has finally risen to the top of the modelling heap, following completion of my figure for the Figures GB.

I'll be building it actively from here on in.

Cheers

HI,

I've got the main paint job done. Just a couple of touch ups, some decals and lots of weathering to go now. The flash has faded the green quite a lot, and the black also.

Cheers

Hi All,

The Daimler is all done now, apart from the final flat coat drying, attaching the wheels and finishing the exhaust. It should be good to go for the original March 1 deadline.

Cheers

Finally finished with this one and I am alot happier with the model than the photos.  I returned to modelling after about 12 years and tried new products and techniques.  Here is the proof!

Don't worry about it!

Just some progress pixs of the Dragon Wagon. Still have a wee bit of washing to do and then it's time to weather. Don't know if I'll leave the Whirbelwind on the back or not. I hope to have my photo taking operation perfected by then.

Redd - Like the look of that Puma! Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup] Maybe I could put that on the back instead Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]
