Rudy since you say I can combine this with other GBs, I also have a Bf-109b1 (1:72) from Heller that I'm doing for the Spanish Civil War GB.

Hmm double the fun!  Last year around this time too, I did two Fw-190d9's at the same time and it was great fun. One was for the Langnase GB (1:72 Hasegawa kit) and the other for the Battle for Germany GB (1:72 Airfix Kit).  I think I'll do the double build again, this time with my Bf-109s.Tongue [:P]

Rudy, sign me up, I'm in. I have an MPC 1/24 Bf-109e that needs an excuse to buy stock in putty. I can now buy stock in putty and watch the stock dividends start puring in.Laugh [(-D]

Looking good Rafhart.

Progress! (but no pics yet, I'l post them soon) For both 109s I have the cp in and fuse together.  Wings and tails will be going on this week and who knows, maybe some paint too?  I used to not really build 1:72 but lately have really enjoyed that scale as you can bang off a couple builds quickly.

Can I jump in with a Ha-1112? I'm a bit new to these boards. I have one that's inprogress, I started back in december and is about 95% finished, and a S-199 in the early stages.

Let me know, and I'll post some pics.

Sorry for the lack of updates! Schoolwork by the crapload, just finished for today.

Everyone, I gotta catch up on the herd of new joiners I see on the horizon. Panzer, watch out for the online grammar translation. I don't get your Polish.

Hey there.......

Was wondering if I could join in the fun.

Got a really ancient (from 1988) Hasegawa Emil-3 that I'd like to see put together.

Im not a big expert on German fighters, but it looks like a sweet little kit. (if a bit old)

Thanks!

Yup, that is the academy/hobbycraft kit. Nice kit, goes together well. The only tricky area is the wing cannons. A little filler (mainly under the nose), but all and all it goes together pretty well. A bit sparten in the cockpit (not really an issue for me). I've got 3 more in the closet. Plan to build one in the silver over azure scheme, one camo scheme, and one in "Battle of Britain" markings.

Tgregory and Daywalker, give the guy a break! Rudy's a student with tons of work to do, ever been in that situation?  Real life also tends to get in the way of modeling too. Be patient, he has apologised for not updating the new comers and gave his reasons.  I'm sure you can start your 109s and carry on even though your name isn't on the first page yet.

BTW, I finally have some progress pics.  These were taken two weeks ago and the builds haven't progressed any further as I am trying to complete a Spitfire mk9.  Enjoy!  The one with the resin tail is a Bf-109 G6 and the other a Bf-109 B2.  The G will be as one of Hartmans and the B as a Spanish Civil War Condor Legion bird.  Enjoy!

I'm sorry Jay, but I have no life, I've been working a minimum of 72 hours per week and any time I get to model is a blessing.

Alright, I'm gonna post pics of my '109 hoping that's OK.  It's a Tamiya 1/48 109E-4 Trop done with kit decals (Black 8), mostly OOB with a resin seat.  I started the painting yesterday, and finished the lt. blue and the spinner.  Here is where she's at:

Was asking myself the same thing about the preshade.

Its so subtle that I was wondering if it was a trick of the camera.

Looks nice, and the spinner is sweet!

Thanks for the kind words!  I really had my fingers crossed for the spinner, hoping it would turn out as well as it did.

As for the shading, I actually prefer to use post-shading on my aircraft.  After giving it a base coat, I mixed an ever-so-slightly darker mixture and lightly followed the panel lines, then mixed a lighter version of the base color and sprayed that in the open areas between the panel lines.  Then, one more heavily thinned coat of the base color to blend it all in.  A lot of work, but I think it really stands out.

Painted the sand color today, here is where she's at:

Next up, the olive green spots.  Today was the first day I got to use my new Badger double action 'brush, so I am still learning with it.  I will probably take a few days to practice before I try to freehand the green.
