Arrrrrrgh!!!!!

Attack of the carpet monster!!

My Emil's canopy has vanished into the netherworld of carpet fibers.

I'll probably find it in a week or so when I step on it, or if the dog pukes it up later tonight..Dead [xx(]

Grrrrrrr......

Oh well time to put together an order to Squadron.

I painted the spots today.  It's my first attempt with my new Badger 100, but I am happy with them.

Tgregory and Daywalker, give the guy a break! Rudy's a student with tons of work to do, ever been in that situation?  Real life also tends to get in the way of modeling too. Be patient, he has apologised for not updating the new comers and gave his reasons.  I'm sure you can start your 109s and carry on even though your name isn't on the first page yet.

jay, thanks for sticking up for me, but it's my fault, not the homework's, that I'm not posting as often as I used to. It's just that this DS is so enticing...................

I'll get the list updated ASAP. Sorry!!!!!!

Thanks Rudy, glad to have you back.

BTW, did you ever receive that P-47 gear and wheels I sent you?

Heres a few pics of the cockpit of my, as yet, lol unspecified Gustav

Itl probably end up being a G4 or a G6. Who knows what designation the G had with Late wheels and no breech bulges in the engine cowling. If they do...Thats the one im building lol

That sucks.  I remember a few years ago I sold something to a guy on Ebay in Canada, and it took almost 5 months to get there.  Hopefully that's not the case here.  I really hope they show up soon.  Disapprove [V]

That's why they're called FINEmolds, Rafhart, not Averagemolds: they're Fine kits.

Well, got the last of the decals on this morning.  The box decals were quite thick, but I tried a technique with 'em and it seemed to work out.

Scott-

Thanks for the compliment!  I was scared to try it, but finally decided that "no guts, no glory", so I took the plunge.

Big Smile [:D] That's been my philosphy lately as well, been learning how to work with resin and photo etch.  That's the only way to learn new tricks, just dive in and give it your best shot!  You did good!

Thanks!  I just received a first for me today- a resin, photoetch, and styrene major conversion set to turn a TA-152H into the ultra rare TA-152C-0.  Will be cool when it's done, but looks to be a huge undertaking.

That should be a cool build, just take it one bite at a time.  Burger [BG] Smile [:)]

Daywalker, that looks fabulous!  I like how the spots turned out.  Scott knows my problems but I'll let the rest of you know too, I am currently in the middle of some minor renos (repainting my basement) and it isn't quite finished and my model desk is currently a storage center for boxes, so all builds are now on hold.  humpffAngry [:(!]

Jay-

Thanks!  Tonight, I sprayed the tires/wheels and also a light dusting overcoat for that dry, faded look.  Should have her done in a week or so.

I agree, fantastic job. Have to admit, i was a little bit concerned about the sand colour looking a little too orange but it must have been the lighting cos it looks the dogs bo****ks now. Well done indeed..Awesome

Hi All, its finished. It seems that the last finishing touches took forever. Had a mare with the rear cockpit and superglue. I didnt go too mad on the weathering as this is a plane that was in the desert. Just a slight toning down of the base colours with some light pastels and a light wash. Really enjoyed the build apart from the cockpit issue and a tailwheel that broke off lol. (That will be sorted when the correct shaped one arrives from Hannants) All comments seroiusly appreciated. If you would have done something differently, i want to know. Its the only way to improve. Thanks...Guy

P.s Can i put my Group Build logo up now?

Nice job on your 109 Luft!  What kind of wash did you do to bring out the rivet and panel line detail?  Looks great!  Cool [8D] Thumbs Up [tup] Thumbs Up [tup]

Hi Espins, it was a watercolour wash, i think Dark Umber. There was nothing technical about it. It was a small squirt of the umber (About 10mm long) and diluted about 20:1 with water. Then a big squirt of something SWMBOd's keeps under the sink. Dishwasher detergent i think. Using a very fine brush you can keep the overspill of the wash to a minimum. Clean off any overspill with lots of cotton buds.
