Sign - Oops [#oops] That was kinda dumb of me wasn't it.  Yes, razordws, you are correct, all the armor kits are 1/35 and the aircraft are 1/48.  Sorry I forgot to include that in the original.

Hey razordws, am I in trouble... did I participate in some sort of voter tampering by announcing my intentions this early...  Trying to sway the minds of the masses...  Whistling [:-^]  Corrupting the democratic process...  Oh jeez...  What have I done?!  Shock [:O]  I just get so excited, I can't help myself Banged Head [banghead]!!  Is that a knock at my door...?  Hey what are these guys in suits doing here... ?

As to the voting system that has been foisted upon us by the almighty Cool [8D], I like it! Thumbs Up [tup] I think the posts that have pointed out the importance of letting the group pick the build hit on an important feature of this GB - the role of the community.  I can't wait until election day!!  Good job guys!

Sounds good, Kenny.

In case a large list doesn't generate a picked subject, we could re-vote on just the subjects that had been picked the first time around.  Sort of round-robin elimination.  I think.

Anyway, it is good to see such excellent participation.  I think the idea of the group deciding what each person builds is driving a big part of the interest.  It's unusual and kind of a nice change of pace after all of the theme builds.

that is the simplest way to do things i agree with both of you just putting some ideas out there. i guess it is time to make a command decision lol.

we will make this as simple as possible all lists must be posted by Jan 1, 2007 which is a monday

from jan 2, 2007 till jan 5, 2007 we will have enough time to look over all the lists and decide what each of us will vote on.

the voting will be from 12:00 am jan 6, 2007 and will close at 12:00 pm jan 7, 2007.

the votes will be tallied after that and who is building what will be posted either that same night or monday jan 8, 2007.

everyone will vote on each persons stash so no one for one voting or choosing.

paul and dave are righ this is a group build and we havent even started to build yet and we are up to like 9 pages of comments which is great.

it seems to me this will be a fun build because everyone is talking and keeping things alive and i thankyou all for that.

so if there are any problmes with the rules just let me know and i will look over things suggestions are still always welcome i am not a dictator :)

thanks for listening to me and thankyou everyone who joined this build like i said we arent even building and i am having a great time already :)

I agree with Dave.

Whatever method is used, it has to be kept simple. For me the simplest is we all get one vote for each person. I especially like the idea that the group chooses, rather than one individual. My 2 cents [2c]

I'm all for the kiss (keep it simple stupid) method of voting.  Either everyone gets one vote on everyone else's build or as kenny suggested, one person picks the other persons build.  Personally I would rather go for the first option as I feel it would reflect the interests of the whole group rather than one person's.  Makes this more of a community effort that way. My 2 cents [2c]

Brownii, now that we all know what you would like to see built outa my list.  Could you post the scale fo the kits in your stash?  Seems like its all 1/35 armor and 1/48 aircraft but it would be nice to know for sure.Smile [:)]

Check the Custom GB logo sticky at the top of the GB forum.  I don't know if that guy is still doing them, but it can't hurt to try.

That might work.  I think it all matters how involved we want this vote to be - I mean, we do have a whole YEAR for the GB!! Smile [:)]

Perhaps each individual should nominate some number of kits from their stash (3? 5?) and everyone votes...

How about when all the GB members are known they are broken up into voting blocks. Each block could have 3 or 4 members that would vote on someone's stash build. Example: Kenny, Painklr, Mist086, and Paul_toz could vote for what results may vary builds. Each member of the voting block could vote for 3 kits and the kit with the greatest number of votes is the winner. For members with large stashes 2 votes could be taken, the first for the manufacturer and then the kit which is built.

Think it over.

Cheers,

Eric

Wow!  I am feeling a little, umm, inadequate Blush [:I] after seeing the size of some of the stashs that have been posted.  Oh, well, here goes my relatively small stash...  Cool [8D]

By company:

TAMIYA:

3.7 cm Flak 37 AA gun

SdKfz 222 Panzerspahwagon

Universal Carrier MKII

25 Pdr Field Gun with Quad gun tractor

Mobelwagon 3.7 cm flak

Panzerkampfwagon IV Ausf H (SdKfz 161/1)

Panther Type G (Steel Wheel Version)

Schutzenpanzer Marder 1A2 (My own contribution to modern armor...)

Flak 36/37 88mm Gun

F4U-1A Corsair with moto-tug

ACCURATE MINIATURES:

IL-2m3 Stormovik

TBM-3 Avenger

DRAGON

SdKfz 173 Jagdpanther (technically, I have already started this, but I only have some paint on the roadwheels...)

PZKpf VI Ausf E SdKfz 181 Tiger I (Early Production)

SdKfz 186 Jagdtiger (Henschell Production type)

There they be... (I also have about 8 figure sets, but decided not to include them because I do not think of them as stand alone kits, but if you are curious, I'd be happy to list 'em).  I'll also try to get a picture up soon...

By the way, this is a little off topic, but does anyone know how to set your GB badges up into a little slide show?  I see so many people have them set up that way, and it saves a lot of space...

i dont mind limiting the number of kits to about 20 cause we have over 20 people now so a kit should be voted on twice at least. we have a few more weeks so any suggestions are great on how we wantto vote and how many kits we put in. i know i started the build but it isnt just for me i am glad everyone is participating like they are it makes it alot more fun. thanks again guys.

Okay, since we have a whole year to procrastinate... er... I mean build I'll jump in.  Hopefully I don't over commit to too many GB's like I did this year.  Anyway here is my picture of my stash.  I have many more kits that are no longer in their box which makes it hard to take pictures of, but I think this stack is more than enough.  As you can see everything is in 1/72 scale.

Oh yeah, baby.  I am SO voting for the PT boat!!! Tongue [:P]

Those are some big lists!

You know, someone early mentioned it might be a good idea to limit individual lists to only 15-20 Question [?] kits, as otherwise it will be statistically difficult (impossible) for at least two people to vote for the same kit.

I think that's a good idea, although I don't know what the magic threshold number would be.  The number of people in the group?  -1 to guarantee the possibility of at least one kit be nominated more than once?  Statistics was never my strong suit.

I'll leave the details to someone more skilled in these matters, but the concept is sound.

Hey Bear, the reno's are coming along, the spare room is done except for the trim (saving that for my Dad when he comes to visit in the new year Wink [;)]).  Still lots to do but I'm taking a break right now becasue

A: I'm tired of Reno's

B: It's the holiday season

C: My boss went away on holidays for 6 weeks to Hawaii leaving me to cover his butt.  Angry [:(!]  This means more time at work and me in a really SoapBox [soapbox] mood.

TGregory, I'm sure Kenny will be along soon to do the official welcome but Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the build. As for putting the badge in your signature here's a quick overview.  First save the badge to your own computer by right clicking on the badge in someone else's signature and selecting the save as.  Once it is in you computer then you have to post it to the web somewhere.  If you have your own web page great, if not most of us use a free hosting site such as www.photobucket.com Follow their instructions and once you have your badge uploaded highlight and copy the IMG line under the photo.  Then come back here and click on the update profile button at the top of this page and paste the IMG line into your signature box.  If you get lost you can always look up the FAQ for the forum as most of these questions are answered there.  Good luck.
