Much better pictures! I like the weathering and the starter cart? Is that from the old Revell airfield equipment kit?

Waikong - Yes, the oil cart comes from the old Pro-Modeler set. I was lucky that my LHS had two copies on their shelf. I took both of them.

It does have the appearnce of runnig through some puddles on the airfield, which is what I wanted to show.

Thanks for the compliments,

Mike: Good work on the Beute UC and glad to see you are enjoying with your new camera because pics are much better now. As for the Beute UC, I really love that configuration without armoured sides which gives a really utility vehicle look. Also think it makes a good combination with that chart. Well done, If I were you I would be really satisfied to have a very unique subject.

GasoLine Kfz 247 Ausf A (Conversion set for Tamiya Krupp Protze)

Gents,

It took longer than I expected to complete this one because my time to make models is really limited nowadays, but finally I could finish one small scene with this one as I planned. As you see I did not make anything elaborated and try to get the most by using very few elements in the composition.

Just one vehicle, two figs and one simple ground can work well and make a good combination in my opinion. the only trick is to make things visually balanced by making all elements support each other somehow, and placing every subject accordingly to its final weight in the scene. In that way, the vehicle is backgorund for the figs, in the same grade as bushes act as background for the vehicle.

All elements can be clearly seen without bothering ones to anothers and they all make a solid and conpact whole thing. I also tried to get some advantage of colours combination in a way that all things are highlighted from theirs respective background, and think that also helps to make things visible at first sight naturally.

Definetely my work for the GB is over here, because from now on I am making one aricraft, so no time left for armor now. Anyway do not get me wrong because I will follow your works and will be here as usual meanwhile this GB is alive.

I hope you like it.

Lu, that looks even better in a diorama setting. Simple but very effective. The figures came out great. I saw your dio at misslynx with the camera, that was really a great little vignette.

Jason, welcome to the build, its never too late.

Jason, I'm glad you like the scale. your build is looking good, very interesting how you are painting the camo. I don't think I've every seen the camo on the wheels painted while still detached from the hull.

Hi all,

I'm still working ( rather slowly ) on my TD M10.
This time I've tried to upgrade the rear panel with its tools.
All that,  is made in copper foil . Straps are missing , they will be added  at the end only.

Tolls are just put in place to get an idea of the final result.

Ok ! Let's go on the turret now !
I would like to replace this ugly part.

So, boxes are home made in copper and plastic stripes

More next time !

waikong: yea,it's probably not the right way to do it but i studied the camo scheme

and i thought it would be easier to paint the camo on now rather than to wait

till i glued the wheels on because i can't rotate the wheels once i glue them it will

be a pain to paint the rubber part of the wheels.

like i said i havent built armor in a while.....lol..

sugestions are well recevied.

Piwi, good job with those PE. Those things can drive me up the wall sometimes.

Jason, by no means did I imply your way is somehow 'wrong', just never seen it that way before. Hey, I'm always on the lookout for easier ways to the something - the easier the better. I'll be interested in your opinions after the paint job is finished whether this was good way to go.

You're right of course, read the post but just didn't sink in. That makes it a even better effort -from scratch! Sorry about the error.

Lu, the dio looks absolutely stunning, but I'd expect nothing less having seen your previous work. Truly outstanding.

Piwi, the scratchbuilt details on your M10 look amazing, better the Eduard or Aber.

Jason, I used a similar approach to painting the wheels on Tamiya's 1/35 Panther last year. One easy way of doing the tyres is with a black sharpie, much faster than painting.

thanks for the tip karl.

never thought of that,i will try that next time.

i painted the tires freehand with a brush.

i bet a sharpie would be much quicker.

Sorry to show my complete lack of knowledge here but what the heck is a sharpie?

Its a brand name for a permanent felt-tip marker, comes in different size tips. The smallest tip is what people usually use for outlining, but beware that the ink dries glossy so a dull coat needs to be put on. I've also seen where if you lay fresh enamel paint on (as a form pf  preshading) before the ink has really dried, it 'seeps' through the top coat.

Anyway, here are some pics of the T34 I actually finished for this GB about 6 weeks ago!

And here's progress on the Tiger so far..

That Tiger is looking sharp. I like the paint job on the T-34, but I've never seen that color on a T-34 before. I've only seen it in the usual Russian green. It looks almost like it belongs in the desert.

Waikong, it is actually dark green, however I think my lighting set up is emphasising the yellow of the weathering powders I used for dust on the upper hull.

That, and my set up is probably producing a lot of yellow light, which doesn't help.

Karl the T-34 looks spot on, you should really be proud of that one Bow [bow].

I figured that either the white balance or the lighting or a combo of both was the cause of the coloring on the vehicle, because things like that happen to me all the time.

Oh and the kitty is looking very tasty as well, looking forward to some more progress shots on that on.

Piwi,

Outstanding looking work.

Karl,

The T-34 looks great.

I just recently started the same one.  I hope mine turns out as well.  These hand rails are driving me nuts.

Grant, those handrails are a pain in the arse.

I broke about 4 of mine, but managed to glue 3 of them back together, resorting to wire for the last one.

Darren, I really ought to put my hand in my pocket and fork out for a couple of decent photo floods, rather than the desk lamp!

Nothing doing on the Tiger, as currently working on a 109K 4, but maybe in the near future.....

Grant, I feel your pain, I've done the Tamiya T-34 as well and those hand rails were the worst part of the kit.  I ended up breaking a few as did Karl and then having to try and glue the stupid things back together Banged Head [banghead].

Karl I know what you mean about forking out for some decent lights.  I use a couple of desk lamps at the moment at the results aren't great.

A couple of guys bought along there photo setups to our last IMPS meeting and it seems so simple to do.  I am currently putting together the same rig myself so I'll take some photo's of it when it's done and post them here.

Cheers

T34 handrails:

I've broken 4 of them.  It appears that when I use my sprue nippers, if the rail gets bent in any way, it will break when I'm cleaning off the sprue stubs.  I've "repaired" 4 of them now with 8 more to place.

The small one on the back hatch has a double in the kit box.  Tamiya is so smart...they knew the original was going to break off on my way to a model club meeting.  Laugh [(-D]

No harm done.
