Thanks, Ruddrat, very much. I'm really excited to be building the EC-121 for the Lockheed GB. A big part of building for me is research, as it is for all of you, so it's always nice to learn new stuff.

I'll have to come back to this soon and finish it, but I'm a little jaded on it right now so it's time to start that Connie!!

Great work on that U-2.
I like the Bat symbol: that's cool as hell :)

I saw a resin 1/48 B-47 on ebay once.  For about $70, I think.
I wish I could remember the manufacturer.  They also made a
1/48 resin X-31, and lots of other neat but obscure aircraft.

Bondo, do you model in N scale?  I want to build an N layout like this one:

Hey guys, i'm a little perplexed here!

Came home from work to apply the dullcote to the U-2, but it seems to be only minimally effective. I know much earlier on, the ironball scheme was discussed and i got that effect perfectly after allying the paint. Now that i futured and applied decals, i'm trying to get that same nonreflective effect back. I've used almost an entire can of Testors dullcote in light layers at a time, but it still has some reflection from the acrylic. Do ya guys have any suggestions? Or am i spinning my wheels here?

I'm starting to wonder if i should have just left the future off and had silvering instead...Banged Head [banghead]

Roger

Should have thrown in my 2c earlier. I'm not a proponent of Future over flat a/c, just my big shiny airliners. Dullcote may not do it. Tamiya makes a good dead flat acrylic clear for your AB you might try.

Not sure. But i'll swing by tomorrow and see what other alternatives i have. Of course the dullcote i have on there isn't all that bad. Guess that sheen that's still there is a bit agravating. I've actually wondered if maybe i should just mask off the decals and blast it with another coat of paint....

Roger

That certainly is a possibility. I've used a process like that before, the other way, where I always photocopy, or ideally scan new decal sheets. Then you can make cut out masks to just put future where the decal goes. So you could make blue tape decals over the current ones, just make sure they're sealed down well, it sounds like they are LOL

Here's a bit of a loop for me! It was my intent to finish off the U-2 project this weekend. But had my supervisor talk to me friday while getting ready to leave wanting to know about the PT test at drill weekend! Didn't know about drill, nor did i know about a PT test, so there went my weekend! No matter though. So i'm delayed a few days. I'll have her finished here soon!

Just dropped to say hey to all y'all!

Roger

Got one question.  The spray Im using sayes Metalizer Lacquer,  And Burring Metalizer.  Its been a day so far, and when I touch the area with spray on it.  It rubbes off, Do I have to buff it or somthing?  Im lost.

Yes, you do. And usually right away, too, not after such a while. Try it and see what happens, just go slow to start.

If I were you, I'd grab another part, like a wing top half from another unbuilt kit, clean it, spray the inside with your Alum Plate and rub it gently after 15 minutes or so.

Then go to work on your Stratojet. Might start on a tailplane or somewhere less visible. Also, superglue turns black when it touches that paint, so be careful.

And if/when you do mask, like for the no glare panel, use super lotack old tape.

Well here she is, sorry for the darkness in the back ground.  After painting, I could tell I should have done a better job of sanding some areas with 1000 grid paper.  Top of main fusloge I did that, and it looks smooth.

That is one of the biggest pains about using NMF.  Every little, tiny imperfection in the surface preparation shows through the paint.
