I just copied image location (ends up with .jpg) and place it into IMG tags here.

IMG Tag is: opening "[img]" and closing the same image tag lead by "[/"  instead.

You can see the whole thing if you take QUOTE to my previous post

EDIT:

In fact you did it right first time except you should use the direct link to the JPG file instead of the HTML

Greg,

Could you explain how you did that?  I tried using the pic button on the reply box and the photos wouldn't come up.

Bondo,

Fotki account is fine, created it earlier this morning.  Don't know why the pics wouldn't transfer, but was able to use the html links once I got the pic numbers correct.

Is your photobucket access hacked? It seems to be a problem for some but not all(?).

If this doesn't work, can someone point me in the right direction?

Hello, guys; Red reporting.

This is a truly awesome kit.  It comes with a resin cockpit OOB!

The fit in some places, well.....you get the idea.  1/16th inch gap in the nose. I'll say no more.  I finished the cockpit and interior (it requires a little trimming to fit), and have closed the fuselage.  The gaps dissapear with a little Squadron WP and sanding.  The first coat of blue is on.

Will update later

Hey Buddy.

Glad to hear the A7s are progressing.  Can't wait to see the pics.  My A7D project is due to start in two weeks, should be fun, my first adventrue away from USN aircraft, in many years.

Chaos, panic, disorder ... my work here is done.

Well, it looks like I'm further along on my A-7 than I thought I'd be and I learned a valuable lesson.  When building two types of the same a/c keep the kits separate.  The Fujimi A and E are similar but different.  the radome on the E is a little longer and taller making mixing the fuselage halves a little problematic.  The big difference is in the intake trunk, the A has a 20mm cannon on each side and the E has a Vulcan.  Didn't realize this until after it was glued on.  So my E will be somewhat unique.  The reason I'm so much further along is that this was supposed to be a P (which is an updated A) for another build.  Will post pics when I figure out how.

First off ... Red, welcome aboard.  I can't wait to see your 'cat, pitty you couldn't find aTomkitty, my one is starting to feel a bit lonely around here!  But since you've chosen one of its relatives you can be forgiven.  ;)

Sim, that Stringbag of your's just keeps getting better brother!

To all of our wayward crew who have carried the weekend's festivities over into the start of the week ... don't run us aground.  :)

I have to admit to getting nothing done on the F-14A this weekend just gone, I got stuck taking care of business for the other hobby that I have. *grumble*  I promise to get something photo-worthy done this coming weekend.

Right I'd best stop skiving off, and do some work!

Thank you very much Frank! Yes PE to boot. The very, very last thing to go on is of course going to be the wireless aerial.

Looking forward to seeing the 'cat Red!

Red,

Welcome aboard!  I spoke with the CAG earlier, and he should be along tomorrow to officially welcome you and add you to the roster.

I'm looking forward to your Wildcat!  Don't see the Sword offering built very often, mostly the Tamiya -3.  The FM-2 was a cool little Hot-rod, can't wait to see what you do with her! Thumbs Up [tup]

Mr. Daywalker, sir! Red 13 reporting for duty, sir! *salute*

I found my kit.  I'm sticking with a 'cat', but one from WW2.  I'm building the Sword Models 1/48 FM-2 Wildcat. I'm building one based off an escort carrier in the pacific; the CVE-75 Hoggatt Bay.  They patrolled, sub hunting, and earned five battle stars.

-later,

Red

SHe's looking bloody fantastic Richie!  You are gonna put 1/72 PE on this to boot?  Outstanding!  With that, she WILL look just like the real thing.  In fact, she does already.  Wow... can't wait to see this one! Tongue [:P]

Welcome Red, I hope the shopping went well this morning.  Also, I'm old enough for Rum but still prefer the root beer myself so I have me own secret stash in the engine room that I be willing to share! Pirate [oX)]

Here's the Stringbag on her feet finally! Got them on over the weekend along with the tailplane struts. The next steps will be reattaching the rear gun and start adding the PE bits. The PE bits are going to be another WIP as I still haven't gotten the other PE set yet. Will see if I can source the same one from somewhere else me thinks. Here she is, enjoy!

Probably the Revell 1/48 one, A or D.  But, seeing as hobby shops are scarce in my area (as is gas to get there; Censored [censored] oil barons!) I may have to settle for a crosair or something along those lines...

I'm going to the hobby shop this morning.  I'll let you know what I'm building when I get back...

Question: what about the bottom window ?  Was it there ? if not, how to cover it on Tamiya 1/48 F4U-1A what I am converting to Mk II ????

Greg,

I poured through my FAA Corsair references for a definitive photo of the belly on a Mk.II Corsair.  Unfortunately, all I could find was a close up of a Mk.IV having bombs loaded onto the pylons.  I also found a decent in-flight photo of an American F4U-1A (which the Mk.II is a derivitive of).  That photo was not close enough to see whether the window was simply painted over or covered.  If it were mine, I would simply glue the clear window in place and paint right over it.  Just my My 2 cents [2c]...

Sorry I couldn't help more, perhaps someone has a better reference than I.  Good luck Greg! Thumbs Up [tup]

I posted this question on a Corsair GB and got answer however, I need a bit clarification. Since here all the guys are FAA experts, than here we go:

First off,

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] Red!  The CAG should be along shortly to officially welcome you aboard.  Which Tomcat are you looking to build?

Gents, I'm absolutely cream-knackered tonight.  Glad to see you are maintaining the watch, lest we drift off course and end up who knows where!
