Hello all, Red here.

Might I join?  I was thinking about doing an F-14 or something.

Glad to see the DUKW's able to help out! Man, it's terrible there at the moment.

They have Duck rides in Hot Springs, Arkansas as well. Remember one time, there was an accident with a DUKW and a bus. They cleaned up the glass from the bus, towed it off, called in another. After all the legalities the people on the DUKW got back on and finished the tour. LOL Tough old things they are.

Aye Frank, and I 'magine she was lying amongst empty bottles as well?Pirate [oX)] If she be stealin' the rations she be a walkin' the plank.Pirate [oX)] The planks to me cabinWink [;)]

Thanks Richie!  Looks like more storms coming tonight and tomorrow.  You probably heard about one of our lakes disappearing!  The levy broke and the lake completely drained in one afternoon. (Lake Delton) It's about 45 minutes from here.  I also have heard numerous stories about people's houses being moved off of the foundation from the floods, drowning cattle, towns being cut off from all roads (only accessible by boat or DUKW).  The tourist industry in nearby Wisconsin Dells (Lake Delton) has "Duck rides" available to the public.  Since the lake they operated on drained, they have been using the DUKW's for rescuing people cut off from the flooding.

Gents-

Though it be Saturday night, I feel some rum rations are in order!  I have been very busy lately both at work and here at home.  The monsoon-like rains we have had has caused horrible flooding around these parts.  The stories other people tell me are tragic, and I am VERY fortunate that I have not had any trouble YET at my home.  Tomorrow, I am heading to Oshkosh to help my girlfriend's parents as their basement is filled with water two days ago, burning out their new furnace and soaking everything they had stored there.  Sounds like a few days coming of cleaning it all out and throwing most of it away.

Lads- I propose a toast tonight to all those less fortunate than us.  To the ones lost and the ones who have lost everything.  May God have mercy on them and make tomorrow a better day for them.  Here here! Make a Toast [#toast]

It's 0315 and Bridges of Toko-Ri is just about over.  Might have to do a F9F after the Corsair.  Anybody know of decals for VF-192 in 1/72?

Aye sir..and the light is mighty bright taday. I'll be bustin' ya a couple o' chunks w'me 'ook!

The little Seagull came today and she's a cuty. Original Hasegawa box, probably from the '70s. One interesting thing, which if you like old kits brings back memories, is that the translated marking sheet lists the decals and paints for an SOC-3 "aboard of Battleship Penshirubania".

I thought that was sweet.

Anybody here ever use white glue as a filler?  Was thinking it would be easier to use than putty on the fuselage/intake joint.

Lewbud if you look at some of the pics of my swordfish I posted awhile back of the exhaust pipe and collector ring closeup you will see how I faired in the collector ring to the pipe with white glue. Its not genuinely a great filler as it does not have the sandability that putty has if you putit on a bit thick. It also shrinks really bad. It is also useful to fill the gaps around canopies that don't fit the greatest. Just experiment and you may find it better for you as a filler. I strongly suggest not sanding it, it never sets hard enough for that. Hope that helps some.Smile [:)]

Thanks Richie.  Looks like I'll stick with my old standby thinned Squadron White.
