Sign - Welcome [#welcome] Buddy!  A lot of great folks 'round here. Thumbs Up [tup]

I am staying at the Mirage, with most of my days spent at the Venetian and some time at Ceasar's Palace.  If you have never been to Las Vegas, you gotta go just to see it!  I have heard the stories, but you really gotta experience it.  It's crazy here!!! Propeller [8-]

Nam- Unfortunately, I am jetting back via Denver, so won't get to O'Hare on my return trip.  Maybe next time! Big Smile [:D]

Richie- Great work there mate!  Looks like you're on the home-stretch now!

bondo- I have never seen that one built before, look forward to the WIP pics! Thumbs Up [tup]

Request permission to come aboard.  My name is Buddy and I work out of secret underground lair in an area that vaguely resembles Arlington Tx.  I like pretty much anything thats fast(speed can be relative), but strongly dislike gray a/c.  I picked up an A-7 and the decals for the Desert Storm scheme CAG VA-76 at ScaleFest Sat and needed a reason/excuse to build it.  Look forward to seeing ya'll in the wardroom.

Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.

Got the pics I spoke of earlier, hope you all enjoy. As I said some lines were missing or sanded off and drawn on with the pencil. I also used a .5mm mechanical pencil with an HB lead that was sharpened to a pinpoint. Being 1/72 I thought I could get away with representing some panel lines rather than actually making them. The effect is still there, it's a panel line no doubt. lol   I think it came out alright. Any comments or criticisms welcome. Enjoy!

I need more RUM!!!!! There ye be lassie! Pirate [oX)]Make a Toast [#toast]

Have fun Mate! I did! If you can get to the Excalibur, they have an excellent virtual roller coaster with full motion! Aye where's that rum lass??? Pirate [oX)]

Make a Toast [#toast], Richie

PS: Was going to post a couple pics of the Stringbag, but the batteries were flat!!!!Banged Head [banghead] Being such an old kit, it has raised panel lines.(shudderring) I decided rather than fight with them and remove them and rescribe etc., I would work WITH them and accentuate and subtly hide the protrusions. I highlighted them with an HB pencil, sorta like a drybrush technique, although a more precise application. Also drew in missing panel lines.

Thank you kindly Nam!  I arrived safely and am getting set to enjoy Las Vegas!  You can drink and purchase drinks 24 hours a day, 7 days a week here.  Unbelievable city...

While walking through O'Hare airport yesterday, I stumbled upon an F4F Wildcat sitting in the terminal.  Really wish I had my camera handy, but it was tucked away safely in my suitcase (already on the plane).  Oh, well... Sigh [sigh]

Time to get ready for some fun! Make a Toast [#toast]

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] again Gunnar!  Glad to have you aboard, mate!

bondo- Page one was updated to reflect the changes from the FAA to the NAW, hope that helps! Thumbs Up [tup]

Darren- Glad to see you this morning sir, hope HM isn't too hard on you so you can enjoy some days off soon.  CHeers! Make a Toast [#toast]

Nam- Glad to see your 'puter is hangin on Dead [xx(], hopefully she will feel better on Monday!

Gents- I am jetting off to sunny Las Vegas this afternoon for a few days.  Unfortunately, it will be mostly business with some really long days.  Work has asked me to go there for the annual JCK jewelry show, the largest show of it's kind in the world.  It is quite a honor that they asked me, and I hope to do a good job while I am there!

I am taking my girlfriend's laptop and a camera with me, so I hope to be able to report in "live" from Las Vegas!  Don't worry, I'll keep the incriminating photos off of the web!!! Blush [:I]

Nam- I turn the helm over to you.  Keep a weather eye on this gang of miscreants! Pirate [oX)]

Cheers everyone! Make a Toast [#toast]

In a diminishing sober moment, one of you lads might give me a page number where the FAA left off and the NAW GB began, as I'm inclined to think there's a Bondoplane to be built and I need to see the rules, and Hawkins here needs to be properly initiated.

No doubts Miss Locker has been shanghai'd, the devil to ya' all! It's a rum thing that it's a Friday, and no leave to go to the fleshpots ashore. So lets breach a cask and rations for all, except young Jim who's gotta 'ave a Ginger Ale !

It's a smelly lot we sail with, and 'eres a tear in my (one) eye! Pirate [oX)]Make a Toast [#toast]

Sim, that Stringbag just keeps getting better man!  Thumbs Up [tup]  I can only hope a project I do one day loooong in the future can even be half-way as good as that is.

Gunnar, welcome along dude, I'm pretty new around here myself, but you've picked a fine, if not somewhat dubious bunch of characters, to meet up with on the forums, you're gonna have a blast. Smile [:)]

I see that everyone has been in the Rum locker while I've been up on BARCAP, well I'm back now, it's a long weekend for me, so I aim to crawl in there with the rum dispensing lass for the next couple of days, I'll fall out of there again at 0830 on Tuesday.  LOL

Well onto the business of models for just a moment.  I finally have something resembling an aircraft sitting on the work bench. It's had a few paint mishaps over the past week or so, while I've been burning the midnight oil on it, some I've fixed up, some are minor enough that it'll be good enough for government work. So without further adue, I give you my F14-ish looking blob.

G-Boy, the two colors of blue were the standard Navy dark sea blue and the light sea blue. Some one will have the Federal Standard (FS) number here. Looking in my US Navy Carrier bombers book from Squadron Signal, the profile I speak of is a plane from VT-8 from 17 Feb 45. Yes, Squadron is a good one, as well as Hannants, and Roll Models are good as well. I know Squadron and Hannants you can search for all things in stock for a certain scale plane. Enjoy the search! Hope this helps a lil.
