WELL, finally got some decent wires on I think! Ended up using sprue, but came out relatively well. Got the exhaust stack painted as well. Now I feel like I can push on further now. Here's a couple pics. Enjoy!

Gunnar, there is the notorious president bush's plane. There's also a lil color from a squadron that was on the USS Bunker Hill with a yellow cowl ring, two -tone blue camo and white/light gray undersides. Few to think about for starters.Big Smile [:D]

Darren that indeed looks well worthy of the Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup].  It's a beastly old kit but you have done it up nicely.  The base is a nice touch too as usuall.

Frankie, don't think I had a chance to comment on your Corsair.  Top notch work there too and also well worthy of the Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]  Those tanks look spectacular against the crisp finish of the aircraft.  Well done!

Been very busy at work lately and not much time or energy for things on the bench or even to check in here.  Worked right through last weekend but I hope to take some extra time off this next weekend to make up for it.  CheersMake a Toast [#toast]

Now THIS is the dog's bollocks gentlemen!  Outstanding work Darren!  You should be very proud of this one.  BEautiful 'bird, a very lifelike display base, and a figure that looks so real I keep watching him to see if he's gonna hop in a start that Spit up!  Thanks for sharing the photos, bloody marvelous work! Bow [bow]

I hereby bestow upon thee the O.T.T. Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Good evening Gentlemen................

as most of you know we we once a Fleet Air Arm GB and one or two of us are still building the odd FAA kit here and there. I aimed to finish this one a little earlier.......Blush [:I]

Well, here it is! This is my 1/32 scale Revell Seafire Mk.Ib in the personal colour scheme of Lt.Cmr. Duncan Hamilton, FAA.

Hamilton was a well known fighter pilot who became an flight instructor then after the war he turned his attention to motor racing where he was successful in winning the Le Mans cup. He was outspoken, headstrong and brilliant at his job. He once got so drunk before a race that he fell from a lamp post on top of a policeman's head! I have to say I think he and I would have got on well!!Pirate [oX)]Make a Toast [#toast]

I have added a few mods to this kit: Eduard cockpit, Quickboost exhausts and some Hasegawa wheels. The base is homemade and the figure is by Andrea. It was this figure that was generously given to me my mate Frank. (Thank you Frank!Wink [;)])

Its been a really enjoyable build, I hope you enjoy the results.......

Have a great weekend!!!

Almost finished the control wires. While I was painting them, one popped loose from the control horn. Which had been trimmed and was to short to reattach and hadto be replaced.Censored [censored] LOL not a drama just bloody annoying lol

Cheers, Richie

LOL, thanks for clearing that one up for me Richie!  Me thinks I am up for CAP duty this afternoon, but I may need a little help crawling into the cockpit.  Cheers! Make a Toast [#toast]

I am looking forward to seeing your Stringbag progress! Thumbs Up [tup]

Sorry, but there will be a delay in WIP pics of the wires. Me thinks I'm gonna have to trash the hair idea. Went to replace that one wire and the whole lot had went slack. Need summit a lil more stable. Might try hair fine sprue, but its just so brittle that thin. Hair is perfect for the job really, ultra thin and strong. Any suggestions guys? Have some 60g gold plated wire I might give a shot. Got it from a copier repairman I knew when I lived in the states. Minor setback that will keep me occupied whilst I await my other PE set.

Cheers, Richie

Nam-

Glad to hear you're getting some bench time in!  I was a little worried as I hadn't seen you around that much last week.  Glad to hear it's because of building and nothing bad. Thumbs Up [tup]

Tomkitty update:

The grey bits is now grey.  I've decided to fire another coat of white on the undersides to disguise the underline painting I did last week.  Then it is time for detail painting, decalling and final construction.

Chaos, panic, disorder ... my work here is done.
