Great news my friends, my wife accepted a job in Wyoming; we have to be there by the 25 of February.  How many of you guys can come help pack the truck?  We will supply all the food and drink (rum).  Bad news is that my building will be on hold for the next few weeks.

I want to thank you guys for the support you have shown me and my family.  Even though we have not met face to face I do consider you guys my friends.

Fantastic news Roy! Wish I could be there to lend you a hand with all that packing. Let us know when you are all sorted. We can have a house warming in our bar!Pirate [oX)]Make a Toast [#toast]

That's OK Darren, we understand.  I made a New Year's Resolution to seriously curb my kit buying habits.  I did very well last month, only buying one.  Now, I am trying to make it through this month without buying any.  Wish me luck! Big Smile [:D]

Yes it's the Trumpy FGA.Mk.6 Seahawk along with the new and very nifty Eduard self adhesive PE set.  I'll be posting some more pics in the next couple of days, but as Alain can attest to the clam shell design of the front portion of the fuselage requires you to have a great deal of the kit done before you seal it up.

I know what you mean, I almost broke the frount landing gear off a few times since it had to be glued in when you close the front portion.

Gentlemen I have a confession to make, I have been very bad.

Not that my stash isn't large enough already but I have just pre-ordered from Great Models the Eduard F6F-3 Hellcat and too add to my evilness I've also picked up the Hobbyboss FJ-4B Fury from Hobbyeasy in Hong Kong Blush [:I].

I've got to tell you I'm a real sucker for these Eduard aircraft kits, they are simply stunning in what they provide and the Fury I just couldn't turn down, not for $20 plus change.

Rick the new self adhesive Eduard sets are great and a lot easier to work with now that you don't need CA.  Not all of the parts (on my set) had adhesive just the larger ones like instrument panels and so on.  Smaller things such as harness buckles relied on the old method of gluing down.

Cheers

Rick, I like the lines of the aircraft, very cool.

Frank, PM replied.

Wii Master, PM replied.

Nam & Wii Master, thanks for the kind words.

Again the family and I want to thank all of you for your kind words and support.  Frank knows how much I miss Wyoming.  The funny thing is, Iam from Florida.  Did not move to Wyoming until I was a senior in high school. Now I just love the cold, snow, mountains and wide open spacesCowboy [C):-)]

Thanks Darren, had a hunch it was the Seahawk.  I'm curious about the new self adhesive PE sets.  Haven't tried any yet, but I'd like to get your take on them.

Gentlemen a drum roll please......

The winner is RICK!!!!

Rick great looking Wyvern... I must admit that one of my favourite stages of building an aircraft model is when the decals go on, it really brings the kit to life.

Roy! Great news......and an undercurrent of happiness flowing from your posts! Good for you two! Nothing like coming home.

Rick! Very nice modeling. Knowing nothing about that a/c, I had to look some things up. Always happy to learn something.

Looking really nice Rick!  That is such a nice looking bird too.  I be looking forward to seeing it progress. Thumbs Up [tup]

Roy to answer your question earlier, which I missed, regarding the vac box.  I've only done a few test shots so far but it seems to be working beautifully.  Now I just have to work on the technique to cut them off the sheet without ruining them! Banged Head [banghead]

I've had the Wyvern on the back burner for a while, but finally got around to putting the decals on.  Here she is in Her Majesties markings.

Getting there Smile [:)].

That's great news Roy!  I am very happy for you, I know you missed Wyoming quite a bit.  Aren't you glad now that you never changed your username to Floroy? Laugh [(-D]

You know what this means, better go trade in your flipflops, suntan oil and swimtrunks for a snowblower- you're gonna need it there! Big Smile [:D]

Hmmm... I have no idea either!  Well I'll give it a try as well.  Is it an A-4 Skyhawk?

OK, I'll show my ignorance by guessing it's a Seahawk.

Ok I hated those pics so I've just done them again under the pergola at the back of my place under semi natural light.

I hope these ones are better althought the dark greys and blacks seem to just absorb the light.

Hey guys how's things, I've been on sick leave for the last couple of days so I haven't had much of a desire to be using the computer if you know what I mean.

OK here are some pics of my secret birthday build, can anyone identify the bird from these pics of the front office?  I've actually done more than this but shots of the fuselage would kind of give it away.

You may notice the lack of a control column in the front office, this is because Captain Stupid (me Blush [:I]) managed to lose it to the carpet monster somewhere Banged Head [banghead] which means I have to scratch build another before continuing much further.

Apologies that the photos are so damned dark, I've done my best to lighten then without much luck.

Cheers
