Yes. All FAA Corsairs were originally US built. All we did was cut a few bits off!Big Smile [:D]

Fact:The Brits were using Corsairs way before the US Navy and it was the FAA that was the first to use the Corsair for carrier operations.Approve [^]

Thanks fellas!  Today I am painting the interior green color after FINALLY finding a very close match in the Gunze line.  I love using their paints, and excited to use them on the interior!

I have only used them on German aircraft.  I use MM both enamels and acrylics.  The RAF interior green from MM looks pretty good.  I will use that on my Corsair also Cool [8D]

Roy

The ModelMaster RAF Interior Grey Green is a very good match for early British Aircraft, but the Corsair would have been in US Interior Green.

Roy,

I am not sure exactly when they started using them, but an inquiry over on the Spitfire GB might drum up some answers.  The color I chose for the interior of mine is Gunze H-312 green FS 34227.  It is the green used as camo on Israeli jets, but is very close to RAF interior green.

Roy- The color I used on the seat is predominantly Gunze H-84 Mohagany, with drops of H-414 RLM23 (red), H-24 orange yellow, and H-413 RLM04 (yellow) until it looked right according to the references I had.

Roger- You are a sick man... Yuck [yuck]

Frank, what color is that seat?  I was thinking of redoing mine in that color or making it look as if that was the undercoat with int.green on the surface?

I started on my Mk.I this weekend.  The Tamiya kit doesn't come with the added cockpit armor, so I fashioned some out of two thicknesses of scrap styrene dressed up with Grandt Line bolts.  I also painted the seat in a custom mix simulating Bakelite plastic.  This bird is going to have a pilot, so I glued up the kit-supplied pilot parts and shot a coat of primer on it.  Later tonite, I am going to start painting the rest of the cockpit parts.  More to come!

Nice work Frank.Thumbs Up [tup] I like how you did the seat. Colour looks  spot on.
