Thanks, Jon.  I have the Anigrand XF-103 and XF-108, and they look like they will make me work some too.  The shapes are good, though.

Yep! Sure did..... I did a preview here. Once I finish the Spitfire for this GB, and an XP-60 I'm decaling, I'll probably do the Eduard La-7 Weekend Edition, then the Airfix Mk. I.

Jon, what model of the XP-60 did you find to build?

It's a 1/72 Anigrand Craftworks resin kit. It makes you work for it.... but it's not too bad. I put the decals on today, and may finish it tonight or tomorrow.

The parts in my kit were in rougher shape than the pic on their site shows, but some quick sanding took care of it.

Hey, have you got the new Airfix Mk.I? I was thinking of getting one and wondered if anyone here had seen the kit up close yet.

I can only say with fully deserved and compleat humility that I am most honored to receive the OTT, and if I can find that Secret Workshop in England, will celebrate this prestigious award with Darren tomorrow, when I am most certain there will be an extra ration of rum.  If I don't locate the shop, then I guess there will be a ceremony in a certain Secret Workshop in California.

Darren-

Another beautiful aircraft!  That workshop keeps turning out amazing planes.  Your paint work is spot-on, and the detail in the cockpit and on the L/G is truly awe-inspiring!  You have set the bar for this GB so high that I am afraid I never be able to even see it, let alone attempt to cross it!  Nicely done as always, my friend.Bow [bow]Bow [bow]Bow [bow]

Thanks, everyone, for the kind comments.  The work to get the gloss finish had become a bit wearing, but now that this one is "over the hump" it has become one of my favorite models.  But hey, it's a Spitfire!

Darren, I like your weathering and detailing, I need to add a bit more to my model, like the brake lines on your landing gear.  The secret workshop in England has done itself proud!  Nice bunch of photos too.

Gentlemen,

here is my entry to the 2007 Spitfire Group Build. Its the 1/48 Hasegawa Spitfire Mk.IX with details added from the Eduard PE set. Improvements included cockpit, radiator grills, dropped elevators, replacement canopy door, landing gear detail and a couple of holes drilled here and there. You get the idea.........Wink [;)]

I built this one because of the nose art-very few Spitfires sported such "colourful" nose art. This particular airframe was accquired from the RAF by the USAF to use as a test bed to conduct tests using experimental fuel tanks. The nose art was painted on by the aircrafts crew chief.

This was the first time that I have detailed a Spitfire and it was really fun to do, the Haseagawa kit is already a very nice kit, but it it really is enhanced when the PE set is added. Well here's my little effort, hope you guys like her.Smile [:)]

Very unique Spit, John. I love the color, and the 2-bladed prop, tail skid, and hinged gear doors give it a lot of character. Really nice work! Thumbs Up [tup]

I put the decals on today, and a bunch of the little bits like the landing gear.  This part is fun!  Here are some photos, this one is about done, still needs an overcoat of Future but I'm going to let the decals set for a week or so first.  Also, there is a photo of K5054 at Hendon, which has that big 2 I put on the side of the fuselage.  I just like it that way.

Frank- Buddy that Mk.46 is sure coming along now, I just know its going to look good when youu're done.Wink [;)]

BTW, I'd go for silver on those gear legs.......most of the late FAA Seafires had metal u/c's.
