Once again you have my sincere appreciation!   I happen to have a good supply of Humbrol paints, even though I mostly airbrush acrylics these days.  I have been inspired to do something different on this build though.  Thanks again!

Bummer about that support, but it looks as if you have it sorted out now.  Those rudder cables/ends look very convincing- nicely done!  You wing is coming along beautifully as well.  Looking forward to seeing the texturing again.

Here is a bit of fun on the top wing lozenge. No texturing yet. 

Luckily I had not installed it yet so I was able to use my sprue cutters and nip it off and turn the bend toward the front of the fuselage and all was right wi the world.

Now to the vertical support for the forwar end of the gun breeches.  While I nipped of the vertical support  (22 C ) I went ahead and nipped of the horizontal bar  and made it lay between the ammo box and the empty belt box.  Then I shortened its verticals and will add the PE for the forward gun flanges.

I hate it when I screw up.  For instance with all the modifications and notes I make to myself here is a faux paux I could have avoided.  The forward vertical uppright  ( 22C ) that is supposed to hold the horizontal support for the forward end of the gun breeches should not go in as the instructions note if you extended the fuselage.

That veritcal support should go between the ammo box and the empty belt box.  So to fix this you have to cut off the guide block on the lower end of  22 C and add the rudder bar ( 14 C ) to that side.

Below I did not catch it until after I had added the photoetch C -yokes, turnbuckles and rigging wires.  Note - the rudder bar is ok its just the vertical support bar is facing the wrong way. 

Eduard has a healthy line-up up kits and accessories for December, but the undoubted star of the show looks to be the long-awaited 1/48 scale Fokker E.II/E.III.

I did run across that group on my way here this morning, but I think that I will just keep it here in case the project runs over for me.  I will be building straight out of the box, so the lack of rigging should save me considerable time.

Sorry for taking a while to get back to you, but as Halloween is my favorite holiday, and last Saturday was our trick-or-treat night then I spent Sunday taking down and storing decorations (I typically check in on weekends).  Anyway, yes the Airco DH-2 kit by Eduard is 1/48 scale.  I did manage to photograph the kit contents this past week and will show them below.  I was surprised to find the decals are printed with a faded appearance (it is not just my photographic abilities ).  In case I did not mention this before, I am going to attempt to build the kit in a weekend (or at least during a two-day span) over Thanksgiving in order to find out if this really is a "Weekend Kit" as advertised.

Greetings all!  The Roden Spad VII has just been released. Just a short note, more later. Wow it is a honey!

The seat is nearly completed.  The depth was added to the seat to represent the parachute pack and next to touch up the edge of the seat back.  Now the Spandau guns are to be dry fitted to the upper cowling deck.

The result is as good as I hoped for.  I still have to set the rear of the gun breeches in two upright  supports and the fuselage cross bracings that hold them.

Note the repair I'll have to finish to the decal on the spine.  

Continuing with the cockpit of the 1/32 Roden Fok.D.VI.  Keeping to the perameters of my build,  I had to use the kit parts and or PE made for the kit.  The floorings is designed in both cases to match the Fokker Dr.I side walls and not the extended fuselage Fok. D.VI.  The problem is that the control column has to be located specifically.  so the flooring has to be in a specific place to do this.  The compass winds up under the seat so it has to be relocated to a spot near the pilot's right side  leading edge of the seat.

I don't see ANY flaws there mate.  Beautiful work!

Here is the long awaited radiator.  I can see some flaws that I will have to go back and fix but now that it is all together I can risk it.  Note to Part of Poland.  Next time just do it as 1 piece and we can go in and twist the shutters open or leave them closed.

Well, that Nieuport 17 is finally done:

From this (above) angle, things look pretty good.

Can you see the slight misplacement of the tail decal in this one?  I was *really* impressed with Eduard's decals but had serious trouble on the tail, which ripped slightly on the starboard side and was misplaced slightly on the port.  Otherwise, most of them look literally painted on--splendid.

(Below) Finally, a closeup of the cockpit.  I couldn't get a decent angle to show interior details but here at least I get to show off the drilled out details on the seat and my first serious attempt at oil-painted woodgrain.

Some more updates, getting there! :

Rigging done, wood parts and the engine done and attached, white paint applied with (now grey) pre-shading, future coat and lots of bits and pieces yet to be done, but the end is in sight!
