Not sure about which armed forces gets the M10 yet but I would like to have one in the stash to build. I could not find a review of the ExtraTECH kit though.

My stash of soviet armour has sadly dried up so until I replenish it I'm outta luck.  I would love to pick up either a T34/85 or one of the new Su85 or Su100 that have been or are about to be released by Dragon.

Mike I believe Extratech did a M10 and I'm pretty sure "on the way" has a review of it but I am having trouble accessing the site at the moment.  Looking to build a Russian version?

Building a Sturer Emil and an old 1:72 Monogram Tigercat at the moment, but have purchased another 5 PST kits to throw into the mix.

The Dragon T-34/76 is calling me though and getting more insistant!

Who makes a 1:72 M-10/18 Tank Destroyer????

Hey, I ran in to some difficulty with my kit. Then I got wrapped up in preparing for the Nationals. Once they are over, I'll get back into this. I have several UM kits to build for this.

Mike, thanks for your comments.  The wash was done with burnt sienna Artist water colours.  Enjoy your time off.  I'm finnishing off two weeks of vacation this weekend and it's been wonderful. 

Other Mike, I've heard very good things about Vallejo paints but have yet to try them myself.  I do plan to base the Su 122 with a pair of T34/76's that I have along with some infantry figures.  That my be awhile down the road though.

I have been using a flat black undercoat for some time now, back when I dabbled in 1:35 in between aircraft builds. I use Tamiya lacquer sprays in a can to give subsequent acrylics a firm foundation. It works well and gives a great shadow effect.

I just picked up Vallejo equivalents (including Russian Green) as they are better than the Ceramcoat paint I have used on my builds so far. The shop selling Ceramcoat here has sold up, so supplies are now dodgy.

I do like your build. I have the long barrled PST Su-122. But the short barreled version you have done looks meaner. 

Ae you going to base it?

Very nice work, Dave! I'm definitely going to try that technique of applying the flat black base under my top coats. What did you use for a wash?

Construction is done on mine and painting will commence this weekend. With 3 days off, hopefully I'll have something to show before I head back to work.

Now that is lovely!

Got some time to finish my UM Su 122.  Hope you like it.

Sweet-looking build, Mike! The base is a great touch. I always enjoy seeing these brutes displayed in their natural environment.

Tomorrow will make 7 work days out of the past 8 for me, so I've been able to accomplish little from a modeling standpoint, but I'm off Tuesday and hope to get some time in at the bench....it won't be much as it is also my wife's and my wedding anniversary and there's much to plan, but I should be able to get a few hours of modeling time in.

Mike, awesome looking build and nice base as well!!!   I look forward to seeing the rest of your builds from your recent haul as well.

I have my su-122 about 80% done.  I hope to get some pics up in the next day or two.

If you airbrush your models then a black wash will restore the back within the vents. A final dry brush of the point highlight shade will restore the grilles if required. Alternatively, if you brush paint your 1:72 armour like I do, simply drybrush carefully the grilles to get the effect ony my T-34/85 illustrated. I often then run a black wash through anyway to "deepen" the black.
