The floater is not glued in place, since painting will be easier that way. 

Glad to hear everything is well TLP.  If you think it's bad when they start crawling wait till they start climbing!!!  Nothing will be sacred at that point.

Oh and do you think your Dad would adopt me!!!

I hear ya, tell ya what. Maybe some inspiration is what I need, I have been so stressed about making this house safe for the soon to be crawling baby any free time I have had is on the overhaul of the home. Plus my dad just decided his son should not be watching hockey games is standard def, so he just out of the blue sent me a confirmation of purchase for a 32in HD LCD TV, all the pretty colors have me hypnotized. Get that badboy started bondo, you guys will see some progress out of me real soon. Gonna hit some airbrush this weekend on the F-14 and get some more interior done on the P-61. And excellent work so far everyone!

Wow !

Some spectacular work on such a wide variety of A/C.  I'm diggin this.

Mist - Looking forward to seeing Val unveiled.(masks removed)   Looks great so far.

Klaus - The detail in the pit is really impressive.

Max - likin' the paint job & pit work on the dauntless.  That's a sweet kit - and you're really nailing it.

Dave - the airbrushed camo on the 410 turned out great.  It has alot of similarities to a Mosquito - but a much more interesting Paint scheme.

Zip - That P-39 is coming together nicely.  Nice detailing in the pit too.

Aggie - good to see another one started !

Whew, I finally get to start on this group build.  I'm still embroiled with the P-40 group build where I'm doing 5 P-40s at the same time, but after 4 months of looking at nothing but Warhawks (and believe me, that's one of my favorites), it's time to start looking at something else.

Dave gave me the Italeri 1/48 Spitfire Mk. XVIe, many thanks Dave!  Looks like a nice kit.  I'm not going to do a lot of additional work on this as I normally would, perhaps I'll limit myself to a bit of wiring in the cockpit.  Plus I'm going to have to build it wheels-up to hang as I am running out of shelf space.

So today I'm taking a sick day (really not sick, but I have dental surgery scheduled for later today), but I'm taking advantage of the time off.  Did some work on the P-40s then got started on this group build and the Classic Kits group build (Monogram F4U Corsair).  Basically this morning I put down the RAF interior green color on all the interior surfaces, then called it a morning.  Here's my single picture of my limited progress.

I'm planning this to be a quick weekend build so hopefully in the next couple of weekends, er, well, daughter's birthday, yard work, home remodeling projects, family time .....

Decals are on!  They are from an Aeromaster set and they went down beautifully.    I added some of the stencils from the kit decals and they performed well too.  The only hiccup I had this weekend was when I was test fitting the landing gear I pressed too hard and the plate inside the wheel well that they sit in popped off...   so if you are wondering why that toothpick is attached to the underside, I superglued it to the hole in the plate for the landing gear and used it to move it back into position.  I was able to get some more glue onto it and hopefully it will hold!

Your pic prompted me to go back up the thread. A good place to start is at page 18. That was a very happy day, and it's a real lift, at least IMHO, to read through that again.

On the topic, thank you again JWB for being the gracious host and yeah you look pretty Gumby, but it's a big heart that beats in that sunken chest. Thanks again.

Nice work on your Me 410 Dave!  Great job on the mottling. 

I've been on a big armor kick lately, but my Me 410 is still out in my staging area. I hope to get motivated to finish it soon.
