Fantastic piece of work.  You guys amaze me. 

Mine is still sitting in the box.  Main project right now is to try to get the kitchen down and th basement completed before Christmas.  Well the basement will be done except for mudding and taping, the flooring and ceiling (funds drying up).  Then I can get serious about modeling.

Hey bondo, thanks for the comment, the aircraft was written off during the Tarawa campaign due to a hard landing. I was just blowing on the prop to get it spinning it moved that easily.

Well guy's I am calling this one done. First I would like to thank Jim, ( Mists086) for sending me such a great kit. I am beginning to love these AccuMins kits, this is my second one and the detail and fit was excellent. Now for a little history on this aircraft. It is an SBD-5 from VB-16 as it was during the Tarawa campaign abord the USS Lexington. There were only 2 dash 5 at the time so they were new aircraft so I kept the weathering to a minimum. They were both written off during the battle due to hard landings on deck. I built it OOB except for Mike Grant instrument dials and Eduard PE belts. Painted with MM enamels and weathered with pastel wash in the panels and small ammounts for exhaust stains. Once again, thanks to Jon for being our fearless leader and Jim for sending such a great kit.

All comments and critique is always welcome. This was a great GB with a lot of excellent work done here.

Thanks for all the encouragement guy's, got her just about finished tonight. All I have to do is paint the antenna and run a wire from mast to mast. The dive flaps were no problem but the canopies wont sit just quite right. I will post final pics soon. Merry Christmas to you all.

Thanks for the comments guy's. I have a full head of steam going now and I can see the light at the end of the tunnell. I am not on the road too much this month so I am getting a lot of bench time. I was in a slump earlier this year but the modelling bug is back in full gear and having fun again. The dive flaps are up next and they look like a nightmare so I will tackle them tonight. Along with some work on the previously mentioned 3 ME 109's I am doing production line style. If I start a project I finish it ( hopefully on time ).

Sorry to keep dragging this up but here is the latest update. All painted and panell wash done and decals done. I had a major problem with the fuselage stars as they were the same size as the wing ones. They were overlapping and I had a panic attack. Took it off and thanks to the stash I stole new ones from my Tamiya corsair kit that I have AM decals for it. Put a lot of the fiddly bits on and only the major parts left. Going to dullcoat it tonight so now for my question. This aircraft was written off while still quite new so would it be right to leave the top glossy ?

I like the finish of the topcoat so I am leaning toward to keeping it.
