Hey Randie,
I didn't photoducument the modifications, but they were pretty straight forward.
The one thing you'll need to make this all work is an AM corrected cowl. The kit only has one cowl with the correct open flaps. The other cowl is in several pieces (to display open). The only problem is that the flaps are molded into the boom).
If you look at the port boom, you'll notice that it has the cowl flaps molded in (in the closed position). What I did, using a JLC razor saw, was cut directly behind there to remove that section. Then what I did was take the stock cowl and cut out the areas betwen the individual flaps and one access panel (if you look at the cowl, it's divided into 3 removeable panels).
Now the kit comes with a firewall for use on that boom. After I built the AM engine, I glued it to that firewall. The firewall will still sit correctly in the boom and allow the cowl to fit over the engine. The kit also has an access panel cover for use on that side. Since it's already the correct thickness, I'm using that one, instead of the panel I cut out.
It really is a fairly simple mod, but it makes a world of difference. I'll try to take some more detailed shots of it tonight so you can see the post-mods boom.
