So is the new voting site up yet? Or am I the only one with a completed IMS3 - Threepeat stash list ready to go...? Whistling [:-^]

SNOWBERRY!  SNOWBERRY!

I don't have any more, but silly me: I'm actually thinking about buying one!  Their old 1/48 scale XFY-1 "Pogo" looks like a sweet kit, and they are really cheap on ebay.  If I get one before the vote, I suppose I will be obliged to put it on the list (as my stash has less than 15 kits)

As for tossing out bad kits, I have a personal rule: if it's in my stash, i have to build it!  It helps to keep me careful that I only buy kits that I really really want to build.

See? Arki's in the "other" 8%. Laugh [(-D] Rest assured there's nothing nearly as 'exotic' as the Hind in my stash. Lot of 'standard' aircraft, and a mountain of armor.

Speaking of exotic, I haven't been around modeling long enough to be exposed to some of the older more dubious kits out there....what the hell IS the dreaded SNOWBERRY? Eight Ball [8]

I'm doing my best to clear off my GB slate in preparation for IMS3.  If I do there are a couple of big boys in the stash that may be on the list - and yes the Snowberry is one of them! Big Smile [:D]

What's the other one you ask...  uhuh...  not telling! Mischief [:-,]

I've got a couple new kits that might be popular:
1/48 Ka-50 Hokum
1/48 F-16D with resin spine and conformal tanks

Otherwise it will be very much the same list.

I kind of figured that would be the general reaction if I did put it on the list...1/35 Hind 92% of the vote, everything else about 8%. Laugh [(-D]

Just need to decide if I can clear my build schedule for a few months (!) to be able to do it justice...Cobra Company aftermarket, here I come! Big Smile [:D]

Max - that B-25 is looking good! Darn right that's a lot of paint...Shock [:O]

If you guys can believe it (you probably can!), I already started making out my list for IMS3. The big question is, should I put the monster 1/35 Trumpeter Mi-24 Hind on there or not...? Propeller [8-]

The B-25 looks great!  Airbrushing looks really nice.

As for thinner w/acrylics: whenever I try it the paint is too thin!  I dunno if it's because I live in an arid environment, or my high elevation, or both.  But I always get my best results when I airbrush straight from the bottle (MM & PollyScale acrylics)

Welcome back Mark, the B-25 is looking great and I'm glad you picked it up again. Thumbs Up [tup]

As for the tamiya paints not clogging its all in the thinner.  I used MM acrylics for several years and always had tip clogging problems until I read on the forums that name brand thinners had retardants in them that slowed down the drying process in acrylic paints and thus helped to avoid having the paint dry on the tip of your airbrush.  I picked up a bottle of tamiya thinner because that is what was available at the LHS, mixed it with the MM acrylics and guess what, it worked.  Now I always add a drop or two when I airbrush.

There's been some awsome work here guys!Thumbs Up [tup]

It's been awhile since I've posted progress on my B-25. To tell the truth, after messing with so much PE on the interior with limited success, I pretty much abandoned it to use on a future build.Big Smile [:D]

Just recently I have finally gotten some bench time in and have accomplished quite a bit. I was having a hard time deciding what markings to use......until the roofers foot went through my son's ceiling and completely destroyed the B-25 that was hanging there!Boohoo [BH] My son really liked that plane, so I decided to do a ficticious scheme on this one. I'm gonna use birthdays for the serial #s and initials for the ID letters......haven't decided on the nose art yet. So, from here on, historical accuracy is out the window and it's all fun from here on!Party [party]

Here are some pics as of right now....I'm gonna try and tone down the pre shading before applying the decals. Boy, does this beast need alot of paint!Big Smile [:D] Paints are tamiya olive drab and neutral grey straight outta the jar thinned w/tamiya thinner.(I'm hooked on tamiya paints for airbrushing....not a tip clog in sight!Big Smile [:D])

Kenny

Great news both on the home front and on the IMS3peat ideas.  It will probably kill me Blush [:I] but I'm on board!!

i will keep it to the january 1st start date and keep the build year long as we have done with the past two . this way if any family problems or any other problems may arise gives us plenty of time to do our builds. and like IMS 1 if you go over the deadline a bit it is ok.

so as usual i will start getting things ready around the middle of novemeber so everyone can go crazy waiting for the vote.

it looks as though some progress maybe getting done on my home front . if all keeps going on the track my wife and i are on now i may be home by the big holiday xmas. then i will be busting my butt to get IMS 2 and IMS 3 done lol

as for the official name of the build it will be The In My Stash GB : Threepeat

glad to see everyone enjoyed these gb's so much cant believe we on going to go on our third year of this gb already kinda cool.

when i get back form work today i will go through all of the pages of this build so i can update page one with all of your finished works .

Yes, please! Dinner [dinner]

The bigger question is perhaps when?  Wait till end of year for our typical Jan. 1st start date?

I have a feeling many of us are still up to our eyeballs in GB's.  A sooner start date may be tough.
