Its going to be my first go at producing decals so it will be an experiance. I have the advantage starting with this one of being able to cross check with the owner any details i need.

I fancy this group build as i will be building a model of a P51 for another websites group build. I will be building a P51d from the Airfix 1:24th superkit.

And as for markings i will be producing my own markings for a aircraft preserved these days. In fact it looks like the example used in the badge, Jumpin Jacques based at North Weald, Essex, UK and owned by a freind of mine Peter Teichmann. I have already asked him to send me some drawings to help me with the artwork on the side.

Here is a photo of her as she is now:

And a better photo of the artwork:

http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=6083962&nseq=12

Im not sure if i will finish her with a second seat fitted as she is now or with the world war two kit behind the seat.

Hey Raptor, what the hey - add me to the list! Not sure when I'll be able to get in on this one (several other GB's in progress), but with 16 months I should be fine. Wink [;)]

I'll do a Hasegawa P-51D...will have to root through my collection of markings to find out which one. Big Smile [:D]

What did you use to acheive such a nice panel line wash, GZT?
Nice build all the way.

After decaling, I paint the whole thiong with gloss clear  coat to seal decals and than used a water based pastel paint (black) over panel lines and clean the rest with a paper towel Smile [:)]

Pretty streight forward process, and if you mess it up you can always redo it easily - and THIS is improtant Smile [:)] probobly it takes about 2 hours to do it right ( maybe less)

Hi raptor, I think I have a couple of Accurate Mini TAC Reece Mustangs I'll look and find a suitable kit since we have time for me to finish the IMS2 before I start on this one.

That's a great looking stang right there.  Those RAF colors really suit the Mustang.  It's better looking than a Spitfire.  Nice weathering there on the Model.

OK Andrew, I'm new at GB's but I'll give it a try.  It will be a P-51D 1:48 Hasagawa or Revell or both.  Now I'll try to figure how to get the GB logo on my posts.
