I remember that Italeri used to produce this kit long ago. I dunno if it's still in production, I couldn't find it on the web except some kits on ebay (like this one).

 But I agree with Townsy: let the armor specialists give you a more complete reply!

I must say that the Voyager set is making me run ragged. The latches are made to operate! You can imagine how fiddly they are. But I don't need them to, so, the one I have assembled is glued together in a fashion to follow the assembly they give. That is probably how I will finish off the rest. There were 31 grab handles on the turret alone!!! I bought a new pin vise which helped out alot.

These Voyager sets also include alot of needed material such as the mantle cover and smoke mortars. there is also a set of replacement plates for the sides as well.

Progress: The T-72 is coming along nicely with most of the construction done, I'm now just concentrating on the sub assemblies on the turret.  I'll take some more pics tonight.

Well after a fun (and eventful!) trip, I'm back and some great progress so far!

Dostacos: That's a very cool setting for your Bulldog! I really like the look of it stuck in a river like that.

Telsono: Some great progress so far on your Centurion! Looks really good and that's some nice work on all those grab handles, I know how monotenous that can get!

I have begun work on my 1/35 AFV Club Centurian 5/2 NATO version. I am using the Voyager update set and it has alot of fiddly parts.

The suspension was pretty straight forward and assem0blyed easily.

The Turret was where the start of the Voyager parts begin to be used. The handles were required to have drill holes for their placement. I placed so far only a single latch on the boxes, its alot of work.

The Voyager set comes with a canvas mantle cover which was also added.

That's it for now.

I just started building a 1/35 Testors M-108 so I think it will fit in.  I plan on marking it up as if it were in Fort Carson, CO. around 1966-1967.

What do you think?

Two things usually happen when a heavy crawler gets bogged.  If only one sided goes down it will turn a little as it stops, because the unstuck track keeps going until the side force on the stuck track stops everything, and mud will pile up behind and at the front side of the bogged down track.  If both sides go down, often the crawler will stop higher in the front than in the back.  Ask an old farmer whose been there and dun that.  Course, after you've done that you always make sure you got a bigger one back on high ground to pull it back out, and plenty of good cable.

Just some ideas.

ok, I get kinda spazzy when building. I may assemble several kits then paint several at the same time, future several then, well you get the idea. I have a few waiting for final finish AND waiting for a diorama idea for several. { I will use some with current or future group builds to fill out the space }

at any rate, for this build {fast assembly for a Tamiya OLD kit with few parts} the primer, paint, future, decals have been done, I need to finish painting but have decided to set the Bull Dog in a  mud puddle {you know the pictures where the tankers all stand around with sheepish grins on their faces with the tank stuck hull down in deeper mud than they thought.

 My plan is green grass on either side with dark mud in the tracks with mud flipped out onto the tank, ground etc. I think I may have the commander in the turret and one of the others pulling out the tow cable

One I didn't see in the list was an M-109 Howitzer.  I would like to get in with this peice.  I served on the 109 in Germany from 87-89 on the Fulda Gap and have pics of my 109 and M-992 ammo carrier to work from.  I was on the SWAT team.  Our job was to prepare and fire a 155mm tactical nuke round.  I've always wanted to do a diorama of one of our simulated fire missions.

Well I've been looking through the instruction manual on my T-72B and since I'm not using any AM sets it should be a pretty simple build. Some areas are pretty soft on detail so those I'll probably just scratchbuild replacements for.
