Got some more work done. For a dragon kit I was really surprised at the poor fit of the upper and lower hull.I've got the base coat of panzer gray down and will be giving it a coat of desert yellow over that.

I added some PE chain to the storage box door

I also added some grant line nuts to the gun shield for the storage boxes that are on the other side of the shield and a small swing plate for the gun site opening.

    Next update,soon I hopeConfused [%-)]

Okay I'm finally back to work on my 251/10.last night I was able to get the rifles and the radio done. The head set and throat mic are PE with stretched sprue for the wiring.I'm almost done with the interior.Once I get the two hull halves together and the gaps filled I'll post some more pic's.

WhiteR34- that Kettenrad with the trailer queen Goliath look really sharp- nicely done!  I wonder how fast they could lap the Nurburgring?Wink [;)] Or, at least demolish a section of it?

Yep it got alot slow for me as well I'm working on my IDF models that I started after I got the bike done. I do need to get back on to my next porject also. Once I get to the paint stage on my Merkava tank I will get back to work on my /17. Glad to have you in the build off.

I pretty much stalled out on the 251 since my last posting as work took up a lot of time the past couple of weeks, and I have been trying to get some miles on my Trek.  Anyway, the good news is that I just finished an F9F-5 Panther for another build, so I have cleared that project from my bench.  I will make no wild promises on how I will progress from here, but at least I will be focusing on this build when I am not cycling, or working around the house, or tweaking on my 1:1 project, a 1988 Fiero.

White_R34,

I was wondering what happened for a while, but I have been busy with work, home, and preparing for my first big ride of the season, so I have not checked in for a while.  I have not progressed too much since the photos that I posted, but as things should slow down a little at work after this next week, I will try to pick back up at the bench.  Thanks for allowing me to join this build, as this will help me to keep on track with construction.  I will try to check in sooner next time.

Here is an in-progress photo of what I hope will be a 251/10.  I am using the old Tamiya Hanomag as my base kit, I will be adding some parts from a DML 3-in-1 kit, and the rest will be my first attempt at some scratchbuilding.

So far I have filled in the holes for the water container, installed the kit's original seats in the back as well as the containers in the back that the ammo will set on top of.  The ammunition boxes, brass frame for the ammo, front seats, and gun mount on top of the body are all from the DML kit.  The started rifle storage box is obviously scratchbuilt.

Got room for one more?

I started construction of an old Tamiya Hanomag kit that I am converting to a gun carrier on my last night off.  I will be robbing some parts from a Dragon 3-in-1 kit (the gun, the better looking front seats, etc.), and I will be doing a fair amount of scratchbuilding (something new for me).  Let me know, and I will see about getting some in-progress photos taken.

OK you can put me down  for this one, I can either do an AFV Club SdKfz11 or a Tamiya SdKfz7, to be determined at a later date.

Thanks,

~J

The /17 is a D as well...but it's a moot point now as I've added some PE detail to the driver's area and one of those details is a shift gate box around the shift boot, so it is unseeable now.

And yeah, my knowledge of the 251 family is limited to .. they're German halftracks from WWII that got used in a wide variety of roles.Big Smile [:D]

i don't know if it makes a difference but my /21 is an ausf D, don't know if that is why the gearshift is a little different. as for that PE above the suspension, beats me. if anything i think it's just a rasied detail, but if i'm wrong someone please correct me. My knowledge of the 251 is very minimal at best

Cruzr, your /21 looks almost exactly like my /17 does at the moment... pitifully unbuilt!

Seriously though, I'm at the same stage of build as you and the parts are pretty similar, but I notice that the gearshift has a slightly different shape to the 'boot'.  What's the PE strip above the suspension?
