dirtball,

I see what you mean!  I searched quite a few of my favorite locations for decals, and the only ones I could find for a -1 Corsair was these for aircraft from VF-17:

VF-17

Hmmm... they don't seem to support direct links.  Try a search for "Corsair", that's how I found them.  I have ordered quite a bit from them in the past, great service and products!  I really like their LIVE in-stock list.  As long as it's listed with a quantity on hand, it's available.  As soon as someone buys an item, it is immediately pulled out of their inventory.  Looks like this sheet is the last one left!

Likewise my friend!  GLad to see you are here as well, can't wait to see that monster bent-wing of yours!  AS for decals, do you have nay particular units in mind?  Also, what version are you building?

Hartman and Daywalker, great to see both of you here! Cant wait to see how I fare against you(just kidding) This is gonna be great. What happened to all the decals for 1/32? I`vebeen to all the usual places, and they either have only one paticular set, or all are out of stock. Any leads or suggestions??.............Harv

Well, as long as this is going to April of 2009....count me in, I'll have to get the exact model, Sign - Dots [#dots]but it is a 1/32 Trumpeter.

Don't feel bad, Harv.  This will be my 7th build in the last 18 years.  Well to be more exact, I took a 17 year hiatus and built 6 in the last year.

With all the 1/32s in your collection, you're going to run out of room real fast - trust me, I know Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg].

I need to hop on over to Ikea and get another detolf shelf system.  Even at 1/48 you start to run out of space.

Thanks Frank, I am going to go ahead and order Squadrons F4U Corsair. Nothing wrong with adding another Book to the Reference Library....Whistling [:-^]

Fred. The badge looks great! I plan on the Revell 1/32. I have the Lonestar pit on order. I PLAN on useing thier wheelwells and flap set also. I have a Eduards detail set in my stash too( I got it a while back, what a cowinkydink!) I`m realy getting jazzed about this. Never done a GB before. Hell this will be only my second build in 20 some odd years. I`m still only 70% done with my 1/32 F-105!! And I started it about a year ago (shift work, grave yard!)..................Harv

Fred, I can do that for you.  I assume the badges you want are the ones in your signature plus what is arrived at for this build.  Payback for hosting the build, eh?

Does anyone know how to convert a series of JPEGs to a flash animation?  I figure instead of a dozen GB badges, I'd rather have a single flash that scrolls through each one.

IIRC, there is quite a bit of a difference between the cockpits of the -1D and the -4.  The 4 had a cockpit floor while the 1D didn't.

Great start Frank,

Ok I will admit I know nothing about Corsair's (yet) I have the Trumpeter F4U-4 I picked up yrs ago working part time at a Hobby Shop. My question is I also have a Resin cockpit for a F4U-1D is there a lot of differences between the two ? Can I use this aftermarket cockpit or is that a Major No ?

Hey summit,

There may be a lot of difference between the -4 and the -1D, the cockpit may not fit right, especially if the pit wasn't designed for the kit.  Heck, half the resin sets that are designed for particular kits don't fit the kits they're supposed to.

But, if you'd like to try and get it in there, then you're very welcome.  I have no restrictions on AM sets.  Heck, half my build is going to be AM parts.

Looks good, Frank.  Only thing I'd do is scale it down a bit so it fits better in the signatures.  Other than that - Thumbs Up [tup]

Fred-

I was playing around with ideas for a GB badge, here's one I came up with.  Hope you don't mind, just thought I'd show it to you.

Excited much, Frank Wink [;)] Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg] Laugh [(-D] ?

I can wait...I was looking over the verlinden set I have for it - man, what have I gotten myself into?  I think I'll do one wing folded and one wing with the gunbay open.  Should only take me the rest of the year to complete Sad [:(]
